Alabama Opening Ceremonies and Social Event

I am curious to know if the social event following opening ceremonies will be attended by most teams? Is this where they exchange pins or is that done during opening ceremonies?

The social event is a must so all teams do attend. It is part of the 'event' and being at the Nationals Experience. So YOUR team should all plan to attend.

Pins are traded everywhere. On the fields, Opening Ceremonies, the Social. It is what the younger divisions do. You sound like a first time attender. You will have a ball. Nationals is a great experience no matter how your team does. Good luck.

ice, if you remember st louis, it will be about the same.
the gift bags are exchanged with the first team you play in pool play.
the pins are supposed to be exchanged after the opening ceremonies, but you know how that goes, i would suggest your kid always has her pins near her to make sure she gets as many other teams as she can...and the earlier the better...but i think the pin trading is done after opening ceremonies....

You guys have been around the block, so tell me, do the older divisions still trade pins?

14, 16 18G?

I'm only half way around the block, but yes we trade at 14's. I've heard it stops at 16's although they still buy them, just in smaller numbers.

That was very interesting last year watching the moms with their lists directing their daughters who was left- even at the end of the week. Half impressed with the planning, half scared they were coming to pin-jack us.
