Best 14U Teams in NTX

by TexasSoftball » Mon Nov 14, 2011 2:49 pm

It's not really about winning every tournament or beating every team, isn't it about increasing the skill of the players?
I agree with the college recruiting, but for those who haven't already signed on with a college at 12 and 13 years old, good news is you are possibly still ok, but start working on it now.

Exactly. I know I'm the first to give heartwell and his crew a hard time, but he's said many times on here in the past that it's about getting these kids ready to play at the highest level. I imagine the goal of those 3 teams is to get kids looked at and qualify for HOF and A nats/Premier. Everything else is just practice.

I agree with both of you. My point to bringing it up was to try and make the few haters on here understand that these teams don't care about winning so why should anyone else care? It's just sad to see the same whiners on here bash the same few teams for not winning every tournament when what it's really about is winning the overall race (college), not the heats that lead up to it.

I honestly don't know if any of those three care about winning or not. I'm just going off of my own assumptions and (in Fusion's case,) things they have said on message boards. I think people on here just like to have fun and gossip and entertain themselves throughout the day.

If all of those teams truly cared about winning around DFW, they would probably take the 4 or 5 best they had, combine, and just go destroy everyone. Makes an interesting conversation for another thread. How would a "super team" do on a national level?

Yea, I'm sure you guys are all right. All these highly competive coaches spend countless hours at practice drive hundreds of miles to tournaments each weekend and are constantly think up ways to recruit players namely pitchers from other teams BUT they dont REALLY care about winning! Come on give me a break!!!

How come when the above mentioned teams are winning thats all you read about on HB but when they are not living up to the hype the coaches dont really care about winning they are just trying to develop players. Anyone who believes that get in touch with me I have some ocean front property for sale I want to talk to you about!!! ;)

As I said, I don't know what the objective of those teams are. Maybe it is just about winning. I don't know if they spend countless hours recruiting pitchers or not. All I know is what I've seen and if that's the case, they aren't very good at recruiting.

Adkins Allen and Firecrackers are the top 14U teams in the state. Everyone else will be playing for 2nd. Firecrackers got a pitcher committed to OSU and were one of the top teams before that. Adkins Allen is just simply stacked 1-9. Should be a good run for these two teams this spring.

BEST IN THE STATE??!...Some teams from Houston might have an argument with that, but I would say they are 2 of the top teams in Texas and would be considered 2 of the best in DFW for sure. But lets see how they do this Spring. But yes, word is the Firecrackers do have a sp (8th grader)who verbaled to OSU. And with a roster of 14-15 they are stacked. Glory-Allen should be really competitive this season as well, with their additions not to mention core group. Another team should be in the mix is TX Fusion-Rhine.

I'm not knocking houston teams. THey have some STRONG competition but the firecrackers are going to have verbals left and right this summer. those guys just plain know what they are doing over there. not many orgs can get an 8th grader committed to a big 12 school. there are probably 3 or 4 on that team that are just trying to decide which school to go to. I heard the coach is basically locked in with every head coach in the nation. even if they dont they are a lock for hof and top 5 at nationals with all that pitching. and you already know what the mighty ADKINS has.
