Nope, not part of the Kingwood family, dd's travel team has girls on 10 different high schools in the area, so the parents have been sharing info on what happened at tryouts, etc. Like I said, I think Woodlands still takes the District this year.

55 should be about ready to return at the start of District play, now if her parents let her is another matter...let’s see UCLA full ride vs. hs senior season....hmmmm. Woodlands has only lost two seniors from last year so they can still hit and play defense, the freshman pitcher is good, but can't hold up to seven innings without the other teams figuring her out, so it will be interesting to see what happens. They graduate several in May, so it will be interesting to see what happens next year. They still have the back up from last yr. She Will help out for some of those innings.Think they will do well again this yr.

Kingwood has very good senior pitcher who has a full ride with Texas Tech when she is done. In coming freshman group is probably the strongest in District, but Coach said before tryouts they would all play JV, period. Some of those girls would take a starting V spot on most teams. Don't know if she held to that statement. I think she is a junior?

Still you will have Tomball in the mix @ the 5-A. Pearland as well(if you dont believe it just ask them) ;) but yes WHS should win that district

Kingwood will give The Woodlands a fight no question, yes their pitcher is a Junior this year and she will keep them in every game. As far as The Woodlands Freshman pitcher holding up, Bleacher Creature is correct they have a Sophomore coming back and If I remember correctly they did not win any games last year 0-0. They scored a few runs last year and I expect them to score a few runs again this year.

Returning Woodlands Sophomore pitcher played the entire season last year on Varsity as a Freshman. She appeared in 22 games and finished with a 7 - 0 record. She had an ERA of 0.96, and only gave up 1 extra base hit all year (a double). Everyone wishes 55 a speedy recovery because she is a GREAT kid and she is the heart, soul and leader of the team. She is also a good friend of - and biggest cheerleader for - "the sophomore."

Hey, I wasn't saying she was "all that"...I was just responding to an earlier post that said she was 0-0 last year.....that's all I was saying....and she's a good kid....why do guys always have to be so mean?....what joy do you get by tearing down, insulting, and demeaning teenage girls?

What was actually said in the earlier post was that the team did not win any games 0-0. Which was a bit of sarcasm meaning that they scored a bunch of runs last year and no matter who pitches this year they should score a bunch of runs again.
