Prayers for Indiana teens

by vdubya » Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:39 pm

Tragedy touched the softball field today as four HS players were affected by a lightning strike from seemingly out of the blue by all accounts. Three were 'walking wounded' with minor complaints, but one of the finest young ladies in the state took what sounds like a direct hit. She was resuscitated in a dugout. Prayers for 'Em' and family, the other three ladies, and the whole Seymour program would be appreciated. The girls, as a whole, were a mess as you might imagine with a lot of fine people touched by this. Shoot Slapper a note/show of support if you get a chance. Please pray that Em remains stable and her parents get some good news from Riley by morning. This kid needs prayers from her softball community in a big way!

Morning after update with good news:

Em's condition upgraded today. She is off the ventilator this morning and is stable! Continue to keep her in your prayers as they sort out any injuries or long term effects, and THANK YOU to all!

Dear heavenly Father, I come You as a humble and broken man. I ask that You please comfort these young ladies from the accident that they had. especially the one who is more severly hurt. it is heartbreaking to hear this type of news, but I know that You have a plan for these families, and for the softball Team. Please heal their pain, and be in their hearts. Let these young ladies know who You are, if they dont already. let them feel Your power at work. Comfort the families and loved ones, knowing that everything will be just fine. Allow Your holy spirit to be in the midst of these families and Team. I believe in You o Lord, and Your miracles. Do a miracle in these young ladies hearts, and reveal Yourself to them. Please be with Them God and fill them with joy and laughter once again. thank You Jesus in all that You do. I ask, beg and pray in Jesus prescious name, amen

Thank you very much junior. Everyone is hopeful and optimistic that our prayers for Emily continue to be answered! I can't say enough about what a good kid she is with wonderful parents too.

Numero, Emily who remains in Indy at the hospital is a freshman and plays tons of 14u travel. The others were one senior, one junior, and one soph. Those three were treated locally and released.

Here is a link to an article which looks pretty accurate/factual, along with some video coverage which includes SHS players:

Thank you all. I'll pass the kindly words and support to the players.
