by pitcherzpop » Tue Mar 27, 2012 1:50 pm

several people complained about us hijaking the bomber thread and they were right so here is a new one for everyone to talk smack about the fireballs and to talk about how awesome fc is.
so i know its only march or whatever but there have been several tournaments and friendlys so who looks to be the team to beat this summer?

It will be a tale of 2 seasons...the one before the 9th graders were playing and the one after the 9th graders return.

The best teams without 9th graders are ...

Glory's (Allen/Kyser)
Firecrackers (Rosales)
Fusion (Rhine)

I am not sure the rest of the teams out there are as good as the three mentioned above. Past history doesn't support it.

The 14u teams with 9th graders...come qualifying time; will beat all of the teams that have been debated for the last month.

Who are the teams with freshmen and what are they qualifying for?

Qualifying for ASA Nats...what else is there?

Most of the second year 14u's are made up of 97's that are in 9th grade. I do not know the team names but I am sure they are the usuals...97 Glory, 97 Fusion, 97 AF, 97 BB, etc...

The 14u teams that are playing now are primarily 98's that are in 7/8th grade. Most of them will take a back seat come June / July.

Premier? PCB? Pony? I don't know what any of the plans are for these teams since I don't even know what teams you're talking about. That's why I'm asking.

Glory has one 14U team (Kyser)
Fusion has two (Rhine, Herbert)
AF has 3 (Kennedy, Fireballs, Firestix)
Batbusters has 2 (Caruthers, Hollingsworth)
Adkins has 4 (Allen, Tolan, Moser, Hayden)

All of those teams are playing now. They may have some freshman that aren't playing with them now who will return. That, I don't know. These teams you're thinking of though had girls that are now all on 16U teams or scattered throughout the teams being talked about on here. I don't see any signed up for the Hall of Fame qualifier who haven't been talked about. Can anyone else chime in and give us some names of these teams stocked with freshman that are going to come bring a reign of terror on the likes of the Firecrackers, Adkins, Glory, etc?

I think it's more likely that we see a digression in competition from some teams when the 8th graders intending on playing 16U go back to their teams once high school ball is over.

Seriously, Steve, how many people are in that fantasy world with you??

I'm sorry, I just could not hold back any longer. Am I the only one?

Is this the same fantasy world in which I would put money that several of these 14U teams would beat your older team? There's several here.

I can send you a routing/account # if you would like to put that money up.

See you at the next friendly - unless you will be up in Oklahoma, or something.

I would agree with Taking2, but I would add Pride. One that is forgotten alot because they just don't play alot. But definitely a team that can handle the teams mentioned any Sunday. Other than those teams, I would say that's it!
