You old farts like me will love this - my 18 y/o, the baby of the family (she is known on HB as DD2) , runs in a track meet tomorrow afternoon and then plays in a h/s softball playoff warmup game tomorrow night. Now get this, 21 y/o dd (known on HB as my DD1) , coaches girls softball and gives hitting, catching and throwing lessons at a softball/baseball academy in our home town and leaves for that shortly. Then my 24 y/o son, is coaching a LL majors (actually he is the asst coach) baseball team - they play at 7 tonight. My 36 year old daughter, the ex USMC darling daughter, is the head coach of my granddaughter's kickball team and they play at 6:00 this evening. My 38 year old, coaches my 11 year old grandsons baseball team and they play at 8:00 tonight. Guess I'm bragging a little , but thats pretty cool.

Quite a crew you have assembled. The scariest combo sounds like the ex USMC daughter and the grand kid playing kickball. :o :o

Thats a fact. That part kills me about having a granddaughter - and her not being able to play softball. I may have mentioned it before but she is behind developmentally, I am told. Kickball is meant for kids like her. If I wasnt so occupied right now with other matters, I would love to take her and work with her - I had her throwing with me in the park, and she wasnt too bad. Her problem is her reaction time - so I am grandpa, I go watch , cheer , razz the umpires (apparently a body fat ratio in excess of 45% is a requirement for being a kickball blue), and take pictures of my little sweetheart.

I am sure the USMC DD has played a game or two of 'kick-ball' ...if not 'kick arse' ...

She came home from a deployment - and didnt say a lot, you could tell she was just happy being around family. Her older brother, not impressed with what his sister had done, was teasing her, pushing her, saying things like 'Hey come on bad ass, show me some of that marine stuff, come on try and take me - come on.' She said, 'Bro, dont do this - we dont train to play, we train to kill.' He went back to his video game.
