this sounds like a team that can win it all and they haven't even been mentioned. whats up with that?

Well there just not playing good ball right now. There 97 pitcher is back with her team, and she really did not pitch for them that much. They lost there 98 ace pitcher, she is now with Glory Kyser. They really don't have a bracket pitcher that can compete now.

[ everybody knows they always end up giving more than 2 berths.

How many did they give out last year in 12s and 14s? I knew it was more than the alloted 2, but didn't know how many teams actually went. I also understand that several teams declined the trip and some of the bids got passed down the line.

In Texas 7 berths were awarded in the 12U division, 6 in 14U.
I heard the same thing about teams declining the trip. The berths do get filled so what you heard is likely true.

My guess is getting thru the first two rounds
American Freedom v Magic
Sudden Impact v A. Storm- (rematch of the bomber ship)
Hitaway v Firecrackers
Cruisers v Power
Even getting in the LB at this point means an extremely long Sunday.
Top two get to go...based on history they will allow more teams in. Good luck to everyone :!:

Anybody have a printable version of the bracket?

In agreement on most through 2 rounds:
Peppers Red v Magic
SI v A. Storm
TX Storm v Firecrackers (only DFW team left in winners)
Cruisers v Power

Never know though and would guess at minimum 5 berths, possibly 7.....

Oh, and glad to see you are back Hotbox...was rather quiet on the bucket.

Pitcherzpop we get it, you don't like FC. That's tired. Borderline stalker... Face it, you can't live through your kid.

I will say that Sudden Impact wins it. And as far as N TX teams placing, Glory Kyser should give all teams a run for their money. Wouldn't be surprised if their in ship. Agreed, they are playing really good ball.

14U Texas Hitaway – average team and average pitching, not a contender
14U Texas Storm Elite– average team and pitching, not a contender, not consistent
98 Texas Magic – hard to make a fair assessment of this team, so based on what they have, average at best.
Austin’s Finest -the good team moved up, average, maybe a few surprises in the line up
Houston Power- potentially a contender, good pitching, up and down hitters, lacking unity, but are a pick for this tourney
Juice Power Softball 14U – this name in its self makes me giggle, good luck may be a sleeper I know nothing about them
Katy Cruisers Gold– well rounded team, keeping other teams off balance, some great power hitters, good defense, are contenders and definitely growing as team, one of my picks for this tourney
Peppers Red– definitely have improved, tough team, don’t take them lightly, mostly average but can ruin your tournament or pull it off
Sudden Impact– Offensively and Defensively are solid, are contenders, lacking in some areas but are one of my picks for this tourney
Texas Cobras 98– Scrappy little team with some little surprises but still have work to do
Texas Hawks – still missing a few key components, definitely has improved, decent hitters, needs some work, lacking speed and horizontal movement
Texas Peppers 98 – average team not as solid as peppers red, lacking in offense and defense
Texas Sting 14U - mostly 97 players, play like first year average 98's unless something has changed since the fall
Texas Storm - it's been a long time since I've seen this team, wish i could give an honest assessment.
Texas Total Package – far from being the total package, this team needs to see more friendlies

Good Luck to everyone.......... North Texas I'm sure you bring it as well.

HOTBOX    Glad to see you made it back....How are things working out with your new team. You have been watching a lot of softball as seen by your assessments of some of the teams. Should be a strong tournament this weekend down in your neck of the woods.

According to a previous poster's opinion, three average teams at best got a berth along with Sudden Impact

1. Storm Elite (Coin flip over Magic)
2. Magic
3, 4. Sudden Impact and Texas Hit Away

It looks like Hot Box might have been a little off on this one..

1st and 2nd was decided on total runs allowed not by a coin flip..

Congrats & Good Luck to all the teams heading to the Hall of Fame!
