It is my understanding that there are a number of girls leaving UT Austin. The pitcher from Belair
and others.

School started in Arlington a week ago, so I am not sure it would be a big secret if she was there and attending classes. I have heard some BCS level schools are in the mix but who knows, she might be up at UTA taking classes now.

I have not heard of the mass exudus from Austin though. That would be news to me, not totally unexpected or surprising news, but news none the less.

Rachel Fox, last I heard, was having issues with the NCAA, due to Connie Clark not wanting her at any Big 12 school, playing against UT. So, not sure she would be at Arlington, I think that is driving distance, which was another Clark stipulation. She is a great pitcher, she will land somewhere, and I guess we will find out when all these schools update their rosters. As far as the Bellaire kid, if you are talking about Gabby Smith, I have not heard that.

I agree with you Mavfan, but I did see her watching 2 Texas team in OKC. I expected to see her more though, since we were predominantly 2014/15s with a few uncommitted 13s. She could have set her team with us and teams we played. Played in the Dallas area several times and never saw her. Go figure.

Txfastpitchsoftball, heard Fox left, but haven't heard were she landed. I agree with Stubby63, a lot of girls unhappy in Austin. I see changes coming in a few years.

I have talked to a couple of the girls that are graduated now and both have told me that in hind site they should have never played for Connie Clark. It was the worst 4 years of their life. And both had several offers to play at other top D1 schools. I personaly don't know anything about her just what I have been told. But sounds like not all is well in Austin and hasn't been in a while. Changes may come sooner than we think. On the upside they both got sheep skin from one of the best schools in the state.

Not to hijack my own thread, but in what way was it the worst 4 years of their life? Why?

What I have heard is that the coaches play favorites, don't expect players to work hard, reward butt kissing with playing time etc..

I know of one player that was, for lack of a better term, scolded for actually doing extra work outs in the weight room and additional running and hitting.

I don't know if it was the worst four years of her life or not. What I can tell you is that when my DD asked her about her experience, while not discouraging her from UT, she didn't give her a positive review of the program and the coaching situation.

That is exactly what I was refering to MavFan. Heard the same thing almost word for word from both players and at different times. Neither player graduated the same year yet had the same story, they did play together a couple years tho. While maybe the worst 4 years of their life may have been a little strong on my part (that is the impression I got) they were truly unhappy all 4 years. Neither player complimented the coach in any way and yes they were both starters all 4 years. One went so far as stating she regreted not leaving after her freshman or sophmore year but stuck it out. What my DD took out of the conversation is you gave them you're word to play for the University not the coach and you keep you're word good or bad the same way these players did. She really looks up to these girls.

Glad to know the 'good ole boy system' is still alive and well in Texas

HA HA don't confuse IN Texas with AT Texas. Plenty of other schools in the state do not have that reputation. juss sayin'
