Jessica Moore has left Sorcerer, this absolutely is one defection they could not afford, what a huge blow. Pitching is the key on any team and this totally changes the landscape for Sorcerer. One player does not make or break a team unless that player is a pitcher, wow, what a huge loss.

ouch! I heard she is going to the hotshots in Arizona? Rich get richer, Hotshots now have Escobedo and Moore, hotshots will be dare I say STRONG. Also got a chance to watch Sorcerer real close down in LA at Hannings, didnt look to strong to me even with Moore. Lots of girls missing from that team they took to nationals the year before, not the same team at all.

Sorcerer will end up being ok; Moore was always all about Moore. Phil always will end up with a competitive team. I think Moore will regret leaving Sorcerer, she would have been giving all the quality starts, it won't happen on other teams.

Its not the first time she has left her teammates high and dry because she didnt want to take her turn on the bench. She is signed, its fall, and there are unsigned pitchers to be seen. I pitty her college coach the first time she doesnt get her way. There is no other story to this! Good luck to her and remember karma is a b===.

Let see, She is signed to a Pac-Ten team, she will pay no fee's, no travel and will have a hell of lot moore fun. She will regret leaving.

By the way, I believe pretty much ALL of the Sorcerers STUD pitchers have left after they had signed. I know Drewry(Hot Shots), Arieoto (Sting) were selfish also.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of the Moore situation, but in general...

Large Gold rosters may contribute to some of the player movement. How many high level players can you manage on a roster? 19-20 might be a bit much.

Fees at the Gold level continue to escalate and rosters grow to support the coaches/organization. The "market" will constantly evaluate the trade off between fees, playing time, competitiveness, exposure, coaching and some other intangibles to come up with a "value" of playing for a team. In some cases, the "costs" exceed that "value" and you get player movement.

Well from what I have heard she left Sorcerer due to not getting enough innings in the fall. That is really a shocker to me as who in the world cares about getting innings in the fall when you are signed, sealed, and delievered to a Pac 10? As long as you get enough to get some work in what is the deal?

I agree that Mumma will always find a way to be competitive but this team was looking at being way more than competitive this summer especially once they bring back Burns(Stanford) and C.Moore(Miss St.). Now with out J.Moore they dont have much of a chance to be a force this summer in my opinion, will they be competitive? Sure they will, but qualifing for nationals will be difficult, and certainly if they do qualify doing well in Oklahoma will be a long shot.

Me personally, I'm real dissapointed, in looking at how well that team played last year in Oklahoma I was looking forward to seeing what they could do this year, and to go to the Hotshots? Like they need any more help? Another instance of one of our Nor Cal kids leaving and helping someone else win a championship, sucks. Also, I have to agree with the notion that what is going on with the pitchers at Sorcerer, they can barely hold on to any of them, and they do seem to turn them over quite a bit.

Response: Well, lets see, you stay on the team long enough to become a major part of the reason they are successful, you stay long enough to get your ride, then you bounce because of a disagreement with a coach, or a percieved lack of mound time?

Does kind of strike you as selfish doesnt it?

Now I know these young ladies probably did not have much to do with leaving or staying with Sorcerer as that decesion was determined by their parents most likely. But being an old school guy myself, and being dare I say a Loyal person which is a dirty word in Gold ball, I really hate to see this happen. That team had a chance to be really good this summer, now they will just be average.

I mean me, when I played, none of my guys would have left us in that fashion, I know, I know, a different day in age but if you ask me this is one of the things that makes the "new" school seem selfish and self centered, because back when we all played, it was all about "team", and being a winner.....aw those where the days...and to leave your teammates high and dry because of a lack of mound time when there are girls who have to get signed sticks in my crawl, I mean who do you think Mumma was going to give the ball too in Lancaster? Or at the champions cup? Or at Nationals? The same girl he gave it too last year, thats who, so why would you care if you are not getting "allot" of innings in October????
