Very sad to announce that Markie Voyles passed away this weekend in an auto accident. Markie use to live in So Cal before they moved to Tennessee. Markie was only 17 and a senior in high school. She took the 4AAA region title on Thursday and was looking forward to competing at the state meet next Saturday, she loved to run. Markie will be missed by everyone who ever met her.

It is always sad when children and young adults are taken suddenly. It makes you want to be even more protective than most of us already are.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to their entire family. A very tragic day. Mark was a prominent rec. and travel coach in So Cal. He was our daughters first travel coach with Sudden Impact back in 2004. He later moved the team to the Corona Angels which is now Mike Smith's team. A great coach and a fantastic family. She will be truly missed by those who knew her.

I had also read about a car accident in the same state (iirc), where 4 HS cheerleaders were killed. Two of them were sisiters.

Oh wow, I KNEW I knew the name. Mark is a great guy. For some reason, I had brain freeze this morning. I did not personally know his older daughter, but have known Mark for years. I've said it before, but, when someone lose a child, it really makes you think how other little things are so unimportant, such as softball. We all get wrapped up in whos the best, what was the score, as it were life or death. But, reality is, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Again, my condolences to the Voyles family...........

Our teams competed many times and there were no better people in travel softball than Mark Voyles...he was a coach that I recommended people take their daughters to....situations like this shouldn't happen to anyone....my deepest sympathy to Mark and his family...Markie was a bright shining face on the field and a wonderful athlete.

Markie was the Daughter of Mark Voyles who coached Sudden Impact for many years. Mark was influential in the Softball recreation leagues of Chino and Chino Hills and also the Travel Ball circuit.

Mark and his Wife Merrit and younger daughter Morgan moved to Tennessee from Chino three years ago. Markie excelled as an All State Cross Country runner and Softball player. She had been offered several Div.1 scholarships recently and was excited about attending college.

Markie was an exceptional softball player and runner here in Chino, California.

Markie played for elite travel teams such as American Pastime, Sudden Impact, Corona Angels and played in many State and National Championship Tournaments.

Markie was All League her Freshman year in Cross Country and Tack at Don Lugo High School.

She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and loved her so much.

Please keep your thoughts and prayers for the Voyles family in this time of deep sorrow.
