tbfan, Sorcerer may very well be better off without her, but not if the objective is to win games. in any case, I think it's pretty low to come on a public board and take shots at a kid. most coaches do what they think is best for them. you don't have to agree with it, but I don't see why a kid shouldn't do the same.

For starters, there is no way in the world Sorcerer is better off without J.Moore, that is just a big time loss for them and one they will not recover from unless Mumma pulls a rabbit out of that Sorcerer hat and picks up another shut down pitcher. The two young ladies he has currently are very capable pitchers but I believe are best served in complementary roles, I cant see you handing the ball to either one of these young ladies in Lancaster and saying "ok, go beat the Firecrackers for the birth".....

Secondly, I dont think Gold Travel Ball Fan is attacking the kid because we all know that J.Moore herself probably had nothing to do with this move. Parents control these situations, and it was her parents I'm guessing that facilitated this move. If this individual was attacking the kid then of course that is completely unwarranted. Because knowing what I know about the kid there is no way I would call her selfish, she is not selfish in my opinion. Does she want the ball? Sure, what "top level" pitcher doesnt want the ball, and if she was going to be required to attend these fall ball tournaments I'm sure she wanted to pitch.

Bottom line there is no way that J.Moore the kid is anything like that clown Coach Singletary called out this past Sunday so any comparison involving the two is not accurate to say the least. I'm just dissapointed she decided to leave Nor Cal and go help a club that does not need her help. If more innings was what she was looking for will she get them with the Hotshots? Escobedo is flat legit and will pitch the big games, rightfully so, so what games does that leave Moore?

The Sorcerer family has wished Jess all the luck on her new direction. Don't under estimate the coaching staff of the Sorcerer to find another pitcher to help the team and thier chance to qualify this summer, THE CORE GROUP OF GIRLS NEVER SAY DIE. Jess will never be able to be replaced, so we can only hope we find a pitcher that will compete just as hard,and be a part of the team's success.Please dont make anymore negative remarks about the situation, both Jess and the Sorcerer have moved on!

DHB - The Sorcerers did just fine last weekend against some quality teams such as Cruiser (Sammy A, pitched a shut out) and Corona Angels (marty) Medeiros only gave up a few hits for a 4-2 victory. In fact it was probably their best tournament and Phil was very pleased to see Medeiros and Albanese step it up. Sorcerers lost to the Grapettes twice when Moore had the ball (few runs scored on wild pitches). If you remember Sting came in 7th place 2 years ago with Kat Lawerence on the mound who is definitely not a huge threat like Ricketts but did the job with a great defense/offense behind her. I say why not finish your fall season instead of going to the tournament and sitting in the stands watching the team you bailed on all weekend long? That's the right thing to do especially when the coaching & team always treated you and your family with respect.

Point well taken Arroyo16, glad to hear things went well, let me remind you though it is fall.

Marty, the Cruisers and the like will transform this summer believe me, they will put a completely different product out there when it comes time to really play for all the marbles. So while beating these teams in October at a showcase is nice I'm not sure it really amounts to much, or is a statement of any kind as to how well Sorcerer will do this summer.

And nobody is under estimating Mumma's ability to pull a rabbit out of his hat and get another shut down pitcher, I actually said that this is what he would need to do to really give that squad a chance to play on the weekend in Oklahoma. Time will tell, furthermore it would be big time to see one of the young ladies they have be developed into a shut down pitcher, that is certainly possible they have the ability and the talent I wish them all the best.

Glad to hear all have moved on and I'm sure Sorcerer will be fine, like another poster said I surely wish good luck to all, I was just dissapointed to see it come to that especially when in my opinion that team was poised to make a decent run in Oklahoma this summer.

You are right it is only fall and JM did not have a good showing in fall. Grapettes and Magic did not seem to have a problem hitting her. Maybe her mind was else where but she certainly was not a shut down pitcher! And yes fall for Marty AND Sorcerers. Look at Marty's roster and give credit where credit is do - Sorcerer/Angels & Cruisers all had the same advantage. This is the bottom line...The Sorcerers losing JM is unfortunate but more for her. You give her way to much credit and you under estimate Albanese and Medeiros. They are not shut down pitchers for sure but they can get the job done as good as JM. Ricketts is a shut down pitcher...Fowler is a shut down pitcher....I guess we will see next year with Oregon. I know you wish all the girls well.

1.) I have no problem giving credit where it is due , but nobody really gives that much credit for wins in October, they dont mean anything, and as I have said before rosters will be totally different in June. Success in the fall does not equate to anything in June.

2.) I'm only giving JM the credit she deserves, I dont care how she looked this fall. I seen her pitch when it counted, and she flat got it done. I seen her throw in Lancaster when they qualified, and I was in Oklahoma, she brought it both times.

3.) I will accept the underestimating thing, that could be true, I hope they prove me wrong big time, both are capable.

My thing is, I'm a Nor Cal guy, all the way, and it would be nice if for once we could put aside our petty differences and put together a team that can truly have a chance to get it done in Oklahoma.

We could - Sorcerers needs to get Jolene Henderson and Keilani Ricketts (who IMO are ALOT stronger pitchers) and there you have it. BUT...Again I don't think you remember or watched nationals two years aho when Kat lawerence went the distance for Sting and everyone thought because they did not have Val go they were screwed and kat is not a power house by any means and look how good they did and last year Sting had the power house on the mound as did Sorcerers and look what happened?? And I defintiely don't agree with your theory how a pitcher looks in fall doesn't matter. That is a horrible excuse. A pitcher going to a Pac 10 school should always set foot on that mound to dominate because she has a long way to go if she wants starting position in college! I watched Ricketts last weekend and she certainly was not getting hit hard or wild. In fact I saw quite a few pitchers at twin creeks that looked impressive (Magic, Desert thunder, team from Texas etc..).

Three Observations....
1) Offensively - Sorcerer has a lot of speed and should be able to generate enough runs so they don't absolutely have to have a shut down pitcher to qualify for Gold Nationals.
2) Defensively - Sorcerer can almost field a starting team of all Pac 10 scholarship athletes, so the opponent should have to work hard to get their runs.
2) Phil will be beating the bushes to upgrade his pitching from now until 5 seconds before the first pitch at Gold Nationals. He has done it every year and this year will be no different.
