Lady Magic Friendly

by triplecrown » Sun Sep 16, 2012 9:18 am

Not such a user "friendly" friendly! Actually it was a joke of field conditions, outfield that mules could not graze on, ONE blue for two fields, and sprinklers running pretty much at random throughout the day on the field and in stands, it was almost comical. If your going to host a friendly and you know your conditions are such find a different site, charge a couple more bucks whatever, just do it right. I understand what a friendly is but that was a joke, now I know why we travel 6 hours to play a friendly, wow really!

And we wonder why the big SoCal teams stay away from NorCal now, we cant even host a decent friendly let alone a tournament. The scratch my back i will scratch yours went completely OUT the window a few years back and they will NOT be back ( we cant even get them to come ONCE a year now), why would they, the quality of play is subpar, the field conditions are horrendous, the gate fees are a joke, and its 6 hours away from home, would you??

triplecrown...

I'm sorry you had such a poor experience at our friendly! We have played many friendlies over the years at Sheldon High School and have had few - if any - complaints. We work closely with the district, the school and the head softball coach year round to maintain and improve those fields. We tried to make it as "user friendly" as possible, but some things are just out of our control. I can tell you that the coaches in attendance from the Pac12, Big West and Pacific West conferences made no comment regarding the event other than their plans to return next year.

Additionally, it sounds as if you were scammed, there was no gate fee! Also, in case your were unaware, in an effort to keep costs down for the participating teams, the friendly was subsidized in part by Lady Magic (read: entry fees did not cover the cost).

PLEASE PM me with your team name and I will contact your coach so that we may address your concerns with him or her to provide a better experience if we invite your team to future friendlies.

Thank you for your feedback, and I look forward to your PM!

I agree get over it! But I do agree he should have spoken to the org personally! Like I always tell RR Gold... Charge a gate fee and the fields always suck! Should have seen the litter box of fields at the showcase this weekend at the fields the 16U were at..very sad.......no chalk! Even college coaches asking why arent they chalking the fields.

Wow, I have always talked about LM with high regards in the past as I have had friends whose DD's have played for this org and have moved on to the next big stage. But after reading the several post that Mike Saulters has posted....I am quickly losing respect and would advise this guy to sit back and act as a professional board member in which is the position he signed onto with the LM org.

Let the BS talk be and leave it for us parents. That's what we do best. You are to show class and keep your org running at the highest level and continue to produce college bound products!!!! That's it!!! Shut your mouth.
