I believe everyone is getting the pitchers from CTS mixed up.

redzone wrote:For the record, the Firecrackers played CTS at Hickman Field in September. I'm sorry I don't know the CTS pitcher's name. She was very good. She struck out the first four batters she faced.

Then the Firecrackers scored two in the third inning, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. Firecrackers won, 5-0. The CTS pitcher finished the game with 6 strikeouts.

The Firecrackers pitcher, Danielle Parlich, threw a 2-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts.

The 96 stud is named Selina. She pitched at the Power Surge friendly against the Fire Crackers. Also, she pitched with the 12U at Hickman field for the USSSA (I believe the 11th or 12th).

bracketologist wrote:This past weekend the CTS 96 pitcher gave up a home run in the game against the OC Crush and CTS lost 1-0. Do you see the pattern CTS loses 1-0 all the time. How many runs would the Firecrackers 96 put up against OC Crush? There is no contest pitching for CTS is much harder and takes a different mind set then pitching for the Firecrackers and CA 96…..

The other pitcher is Alicia who is a 95 pitcher. Alicia pitched against OC Crush and gave up the homerun. Yes, they are both good and look alot alike. But Selina is about 6 feet while Alicia is 5'8". I am going off hear say but a lot of people get Alicia and Selina mixed up. Just wanted to clairfy it for all of ya.......

I beleive the girl who pitched in the 14U tournament last weekend in San Clemente was Selina. 6 foot tall machine, nothing phased her. So maybe she is playing both

No worries about No fear's name change. I just saw in the OC Register that "No Fear" filed for bankruptcy protection...they have bigger problems right now.

I believe it is rare to assemble a group of girls that actually have a shot at winning a National Championship. I see nothing wrong with going for the gold. The opportunity will most likely never present itself again. We do live pitching every practice and l like that this is the opportunity for our pitchers to "develop". All our pitchers also practice outside of team practices at least 2 times a week. I think it is alot to ask to sacrafice everyones game experience to benefit one player. Pitchers should be ready to pitch in a tournament as well as a friendly. The game does not revolve around the player in the circle's development.

I agree, and pitchers shouldn't have to throw the same pitch 20 times in a row in friendlies or games to develop. My DD has thrown a change-up say 4 times in a row in a friendly, but not even close to 20. Also, back to another thing Bracket has said, believe it or not even some of the top organizations are committed to developing their players (Not stealing them from other teams) - and not just the pitchers, but developing the entire team. My DD's team has been about development and growth from the beginning and it's no big secret that they put these things first, but on the same hand have high expectations that the kids on the team have the ability to step up and win the big games. ;)

Thank you Clean_up. I am not sure how people expect teams to be able to step up and win the big games when we are supposed to step down during a friendly. Lets face it, a majority of games we will play this year are friendly games! So if we are not playing to win a huge majority of the time, will we be ready for the big one? I don't think so..

Is this Firecrackers 96 team the same core group from last year or have they added some new players?
