What happened to the 92 Austin Stars?

by 93players » Wed Nov 19, 2008 11:58 pm

I am wondering if anyone has seen the 92 Austin Stars play? What a great team, so much speed and talent. Centex needs them to come out of retirement. Some teams needs to challenge that Blaze Gold and Blaze Prinzo team. They seem to be running over the competition. I am sure that Stars team could beat the 16U Blaze and give the Gold a run for their money. Come to think of it, the Stix Gold and ATX seem to be staying out of local tournaments so they need to get in the mix and play those Blaze teams. Storm Blue has too many 14u/16u players on it to be any good.

Isn't '93 Texas Storm from your area? If so, I would say they are definitely one of Texas' best.

I think they just moved up to 16's and should prove to be good competition for the Blaze teams, based on this years performance.

The Texas Storm Raley are a very good team, did they just move up from 14U.

The Stars are a very average team in Texas. They were a one year wonder, they must have lost most of their players . What is up with the Blaze. People talking about them all the time, but what have they won. The gold team qualifies the last day, the last game, of the last tournament. Granted, they did make it, and that is very good. Lets see them make it 5 times in a row.

The prinzo team can beat up on the 2nd tier teams, but not the top teams in Houston and Dallas. No more comments on the Prinzo team, until they beat top teams.

Have not seen the 92 Austin Stars lately but I am sure if Rollie is still coaching them they will emerge sometime in the Spring.

The 93 Texas Storm Raley is definitely a team to watch in the Spring and yes they have made the move to 16U. They made a great showing in OC with a 3-0-2 record against some great competition according to their website. They will also be changing their team name to Texas Storm Elite 16U. This is a great group to watch and they know how to win. Made a great showing in the RM 16U taking 2nd without their shortstop. They will definitely be in the thick of things come spring.

Top Gold, Top 16u, Top 14u in Central Texas. Texas Blaze. Yeah, they're behind the Dallas and Houston area.....but not much. Also, if you had to play Central Texas softball every weekend........it take you awhile to the next level too. From Waco to Corpus Christi.......that's thats the program. Have you seen their site. Georgia Tech, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas State, North Texas......and they've just started. All three age groups made ASA Nationals last year (according to the site)
Next up..........Stix, Bombers, Stars, Storm.

Just curious..........who are the Elite 16u teams in the State? Glory (Naudin) and Texas Storm (Houston area, not sure which one)...........but who else?

You must be a parent of the Blaze, or maybe just a Central Texas Homer.

Everyone in 16U division knows that the Texas Glory (Naudin) is several steps ahead of every other 16U team in Texas. How many Texas 16U teams has beat them, or even come close when they were healthy. With the possible additions of a few star Fusion players, they may be able to beat or hang tough with the SoCal top teams. Who else in the 16U Texas Division can make that claim? There may be a sleeper hiding somewhere. Texas Blaze, Texas Storm, Impact, BB, Flames, another glory team, Texas Sting ? ? ? ? ?

There are many teams in the 16U division that can play great fastpitch, but how far can they make it at ASA. Time will tell.

SK Tazers, Fusion Sidwell, TX Storm Raley, TX Bombers Black, OK Force, and TX Blaze have all played well in the showcases this fall. The Glory Naudin team is real good but not unbeatable. I watched them in Plano and they made mistakes like all the teams I mentioned. They certainly did not dominate the teams they played. I think they and many others can win from game to game but so far I have not seen any team that looked to be way stronger than the others. As for the Cali teams at ASA only time will tell.
