Tomball has one going to ULL/nationally ranked and the other has been scouted by some big schools. Sure to see her go somewhere big. Sad to see the school split and dwindled such great talent.

She is commited to Houston. I hope both schools do well also. I know a lot of girls on the Tomball team. Looks like Ridge Point is the team to beat in district. We play them a week from tuesday.

I figured that the Tomball chatter would smoke you out, Frito :D

Unfortunately I am going to miss the College Station tourney, so I won't get my preseason preview of the competition.

Nothing mentioned about a burrito or Tomball Memorial, but Tomball is mentioned in the All Greater Houston talks:

I enjoyed reading all the post about this topic and it will definitely be interesting to see it play out. My question is who are the sleeper teams that have all of the ingredients to make it to the state tournament and are flying under the radar?

I will get ya started with Brewer High School on the west side of Fort Worth. Watched them play well last year until their best pitcher (probably best unknown 2014 Pitcher in the state - Sarah Miller) went down with a pitching hand injury during a game. They had another pitcher but she's not as complete as the starter and have another one that has great potential if she can stay healthy. They have a young team with 7 select players and have only 1 senior. The Miller kid pitched her select team to a 3rd place finish (16U PGF) last year with the help of a pitcher from Lovejoy (Brouchu). Team is loaded with experience, young talent (fresh/sophs) that played with top select team in N. Texas.

Their biggest challenge will be coaching (management of games), health and politics...as everyone on this string is aware of. As for district, they have to match-up with Rider and that may tell it all...

Who else is flying under the radar?

My thoughts for 5-4A, I think Guyer will be tough in that district against Brewer and Rider. On a neutral field, Rider can be beat though. Rider has a strong team, but it's tough to overcome the fact that the guy that runs ASA district 9 is the father of the softball coach at Rider. I have seen my share of questionable calls that impact both JV and Varsity. I saw Brewer play twice last year just as district was about to start. Had a good pitcher, but didn't really see a team, but more like 9 individuals. Lake Dallas rounds out my pick of that district.

WF Rider
Guyer
Brewer
Lake Dallas

I bet Miss Wright, Ober, Rupp, Clark, and several others might have something to say about that.

Not sure I have the right kids, but are those really unknown? Isn't one of them a catcher? For that matter, why are we calling Miller unknown?
