Who are the top 12U teams in IN for 2012-2013?

by Mark 75 » Fri Feb 15, 2013 8:48 pm

Sorry bulldogforever00, just trying to send my daughter's team some love. :P

They have been working hard, as I'm sure all the other teams have.

Mark 75 wrote:That is an interesting post, Bulldogforever00. I am sure every team could say the same thing about many of their opponents. If it weren't for all those runs we scored against "that team" we could have lost to them. :P Especially since the number you are sighting is 11 runs. That's beast mode stuff!

I do remember the Aftermath beating White Sox (Baker) twice in the fall. I think Bake knows more about the Aftermath then he's letting on. Especially since it's just a merger of the best players off of the 2012 Phoenix and the 2012 Warriors team. This team could be tough if the coaching staffs work together and make good decisions. If the coach from the Phoenix has majority say they will likely be trophy chasers and duck the Sox and Bulldogs.

NWI 12U ranking. My 2 cents.
Bulldogs (Frazier)
Aftermath
White Sox (Baker)
White Sox (Wright)
Bull Dogs (Manhatten)
Legacy

Wow! The best players from the Phoenix and Warriors? I'm sure that's debatable! You guys are giving the Aftermath way too much credit! Just because they beat the NWI White Sox 2000 in the fall doesn't mean they are one of the top teams in the area. Both teams (Phoenix and Warriors) played weak schedules last year, so it's not like any of the girls from either team played any tough competition. I would be shocked if they ever played the Sox 2000 again or play the Bulldogs00. However, I could possibly see them entering the ASA State Qualifier in Hobart this year just because it's local. But I highly doubt they will travel to Muncie or Terre Haute to play in those qualifiers. Too far to get their tails kicked! I believe they will stick to trophy hunting just like you said Mark 75.

Looks like four of us disagree with you and have them ranked in top 4 in their region.

Anyone know how the '00 Bulldogs did down in GA?

I consider the top teams to be 1-2-3 in NWI. So yeah, I'll put them at #4. It falls off after 3 anyway.

Softball Nut - Not sure how your came up with your criteria, but the score on the scoreboard is a nice indication. Especially when there are repeat victories over the same team. If a team backs up a win over a team with another win, then it makes sense they are better then said team.

Unless there is something I am missing? Which could be the case!

Mark 75 - It's pretty obvious that you have close ties to this team. I'm guessing your daughter is on this "top 3" team. I'll use an example to show you why I don't think they're in the top 3. Let's take the 2012 Chicago Cubs for instance. One of the worst teams in MLB by far, and have been for years. Last year, they were somehow able to beat the St. Louis Cardinals, who made it to the NLCS, twice in a row on April 23rd and 24th last year. Does this mean the Cubs are a better team than the Cardinals? NO!!!!!!! Same concept with the Aftermath (Cubs) and White Sox 2000 (Cardinals), buddy. Hope you can see what you are missing now. Just because you win two in a row, DOES NOT always mean that team is better. ;)

I have to say that is the most entertaining and logical argument I have ever read on this message board. Well played, softball nut.

BTW, I also hate the Cubs. That made your argument even more sound.

It looks like it was in a late fall tourney, so it's more like the Cubs beating the Cardinals in a split squad spring training doubleheader. Aftermath is still registered as NSA B, so someone isn't completely sold on them yet.
