Who are the best 14u teams in texas??

If you watch the game at all, you can tell who has the talent, regardless of the venue and time of year.

I have to side with T2 on this one. I've always thought it to be a pretty lame excuse; the whole "It's February" thing. I mean, we basically play year round in Texas. Plus, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see talented ball players wearing the same jerseys. The only thing relative to February/March is that there are several girls at these friendlies that 14U teams won't see once they go back to their 16U teams in May.

maybe they will actually go to pgf this year and we can all find out

So they can go and play the California teams in their own back yard?

PGF is a joke.

One of the reasons that PGF was created was because ASA made Gold teams go to OKC every year and they said that it wasnt fair to the Cali teams. So everyone else just has to go to the most expensive state in the country to play ball when the Cali teams get to stay at home? Thanks but I will pass.

If it helps the Cali teams to sleep at night saying that PGF is the best, then so be it,.

I dont think you know what your talking about. I would have said the same thing befor last year. Dang we have to play them in there back yard. I have went to three straight 14u national two ASA and last year the PGF. All I got to say is wow about the PGF. One of the games I watched I counted over 20 head coaches at the OC Yabrra vs Texas Glory games. They were at the practice games as well. We were all in shock. The last two days in the ball park I counted atleast 8 r more coaches at each field. Well I started wondering, I have never seen this many coaches before at a tournament especially at a 14u. So I ask a group of coaches, and they said they have been recruiting 16u all summer, and now its time to start looking at the 97 and 98. They said why would they travel anywhere else, when all the best talent is right here. They said it will be the same in 2013, they will be looking at the 99 98.

The ones that are at PGF are going to say that. They would never admit they made a mistake and went to the wrong showcase...ahum...I mean national.

Austin Stars Garcia is the best team that no one talks about in Texas. Back to back 2nd place finishes (12U & 14U) at Ronald McDonald, VTD State Champions and just this weekend won the TX Bombers Shootout by beating the Bombers good 98 team, Lil Rebels from Nevada and the Bombers Prospects.

I read regularly and rarely if ever post these days. We appreciate the nod, but our girls just play hard and we worry about ourselves. We have had some good tournaments and some bad ones, this happened to be a good one for us. Our coaches work their tails off to make sure each kid gets better every practice and our kids work in the same manner. That is how we judge our success. Not that we don't like winning :D :D :D, we are thrilled to have gotten a bid to PGF and to have played well in our first tournament after a long lay off. We hope we can continue to improve and make Texas proud. Good luck to everyone. We will see you down the road.

Maybe if more people started participating in these threads instead of just reading regularly, the rest of us would know about all of these great teams. Otherwise, all we have to go on is how these teams do nationally.

I have learned that it matters not what happens this time of year, th best teams seem to do well
in the summer when it counts. I know that here in North Texas, we have many teams that seem to coast all year, but seem to play well when it counts in the summer. I do not know if it is coaching or players, or what, but it seems the best teams show themselves in June and July.

I think it does matter what happens in March, April, & May. These months set the tone for the June & July. If you havent done anything in the spring, you cant expect to compete at in Cali, Colorado, or wherever

One team placed at the Freedom Invitational. Yeah, North Texas 14U really tore it up last June & July.

Summer: 2012 Best Finishes 14U

PGF Nats: T-25th
Sparkler: T-25th
