Top teams in Houston for the Spring


Mc Magic: Won the RM undefeated,Solid group of girls with a good coach.

Texas Hawks: 2nd at the RM, strong group always picked to win a tournament.

Houston Power: 4th at the RM, won 2 16u tournaments great group of girls and very deep.

High Voltage94; Won a 18u tournament good group and good pitching.

Sk Velocity: 3rd at the RM, solid team

TPS: Always fields a good team 5th at ASA 12u, doing well this fall also.

Kaos: Always well coached solid D.

Jets: Look good this past weekend all I know about this team.

I know i left some teams out no disrespect hopefully they can all help each other out and make a good showing in nationals for ALL OF TEXAS.

I believe that MC Magic will be playing 16u this Spring even though they are still eligible to play 14u, if that's the case then it's good news for the rest of the 14u teams.

I agree with most of your team assessments, I am wondering what happened to SK Velocity and the Hawks this last weekend. It seems these two teams run hot and cold, of course, most teams do

94 Peppers -Hoskins

Lost a few in the fall but picked some other good ones

They played up @ Rm in the 16-u but are a true 94 team

Not in any order/DD's team left off

MC Magic- Always good since 10-u
Power -14 -Good Team
SK Velosity- Good Team
Jets - Good Team
Kaos - lots of people talking about them (good things)

HS will Screw it up in the spring for 94's and the 95's will be all the talk till end of may

HOF will be the tell all ........Again

I am sure I have left a few off, but these are the ones I have seen play and thought well of.

The 94 Peppers are the best 14U team in the Houston area. If they play 14U everyone else is likely playing for second place.

Ok I forgot to mention 94 Peppers I got it, but to say they are the best in Houston well
we will have to see. I know for a fact that some of the teams mention above have already
beat them.
The Peppers are always top notch and will compete at the highest level everytime they hit the field.

Not sure how many players the 94 Peppers lost to other teams, but I would say they have been by far the best team from the South Texas I have seen play the last couple of years. Over the last couple of years the Peppers have came to North Texas and competed very well with the Top teams here.

It will be interesting to see how the teams being discussed will be able to compete with teams like the 94 Batbusters (Montoya), 94 Glory (Elliott), and the 95 Kruzers. I would say in no order that these will be the Top 14U teams in N. Texas this Spring.

Good luck to each of them, hopefully the whole State of Texas will be well represented in GA this summer.

Apparently I was wrong about Magic 94. From what I heard recently, they will be playing championship tournaments as 14u. You won't see much of them until after high school ball ends but they will be playing here and there, teamed up with some of the Peppers players.

Some really solid teams in the DFW area, BatBusters Montoya always a contender, Elite Floyd, solid team , haven't heard much about the Fusion Mendez team except that they lost some good players due to unfortunate circumstances. May be a few 95's , Liberty Kruzers (Flanigan) always at the top, Travelers 95. Also some East Texas teams making some noise, Sneaky Cleats 95, SC Mean Green. I know the BatBusters and Mean Green have been playing up and have been very successful.

Fastpitchfan, I would agree with you the 95 Travelers are always going to be in the hunt. 94 Elite (Floyd) has some talent on the team, one of the best 95 pitchers in the area. Needs some defensive help, and to be more consistent at the plate. As for the 14U Fusion, I wouldn't expect much from this team. The players dismissed were key players for that team, and not sure they will be able to pull any of the top players into the program. SC team was very competitive last year, and would expect to see them be even better this year.

Not to take anything away from teams like BB, SC, and others I wouldn't put to much stock in the successes of playing up in the fall. It is not uncommon to see the Top teams in any age group to play up in the fall and have success, as most of the better teams in each age division is doing the same.

It could be rough at the start for some of the 94 teams until after HS ball is over, but after that it should be a interesting Spring/Summer.
