Sudden Impact Elite now Corona Angels-Holt

We are pleased to announce Sudden Impact Elite will now be joining the Corona Angels Organization under the guidance of Marty Tyson. The team will now be called Corona Angels-Holt and will be preparing for 14U ASA Nationals. All 8 teams in the Angels program attended ASA Nationals in 2008 with 1 National Championship, 2 Finalist and a 3rd Place Finish.

We would like to thank the Howell family for the past 3 years. We wish the entire SI organization great success and appreciate their support over the years.

I know Corona has that big name but what would be the reason for leaving Sudden Impact and going to Corona at 14's.
Corona now has 3 14U teams, CA 95 already has a berth, now Tyson's team and SI Ken now CA 94 part 2 have to battle it out.

I would assume the reasoning would be to connect yourself with a guy who has built a powerhouse, has endless contacts with college programs and is truly in this business for the girls well being.

Funny how the travel ball world is similar to the business world with so much consolidation going on recently... I'm sure there are pros and cons to that argument.

Have to agree with RaeRae56. From the outside looking in, MT seems to be one of the best, if not the best, salesman in this softball recruiting business. He appears to have the ear, and the trust, of most of the top programs in the country. :

Probably recruiting is a factor.....Standard teams hold tryouts and get maybe 20 - 30 girls out there, more in some cases but I think 20 - 30 is average.......

Corona Angles hold tryouts and the park looks like damn Disneyland with elephant rides and snowcones......I saw one of Marty's teams (14's or Gold, I'm not sure) last year hold tryouts and it looked like there were about 100 players out there!!
