Not my Sorcerers, have nothing to do with them, just know too much about the landscape of current Gold programs. btw, there is turnover every year with every team, someone tells you there isnt, they are liars

Roster posted. Only "major" turnover appears to be the mass exodus of the entire former 18G coaching staff. So much for "seamless"...

I knew there wasnt going to be any turnover except for graduation, they lost the CF and 2nd basemen to graduation (one to Northwestern and other to UCLA), but they just re fueled and are not rebuilding, they will be VERY tough this coming Summer, VERY tough. If you are an up and comer and want to be really really challenged this is the program in NorCal (you DON'T need to play on a SoCal team), as they play a brutal schedule every year.

Not sure what you meant by "seamless" and "mass exodus", but I will try and be as nice as I can about this but, from what I saw and I saw enough of their games, there is a huge difference between a "staff" and body's.

And as far as AASA, well until they can attract more than one top tier pitcher they will continue to be just another avg team, as it starts in the circle and ends in the circle.....

They will be fine.... great org with solid rep!!! Plus mike and FC98 will be supporting these teams I would say!!!

**************************************************************

that would be $25.00 per player PER MONTH billed at 6 months at a time so $2250 the TEAM has to PAY to be called a SORCERER. Someone has to pay for sorcerer acadamy right.

LOL they have nothering to do with each other. GameTime was talking about $25 per kid goes to org. I was mearly stating that Sorcerer does the same thing. It ranged from $25-35 a player based on how many players you carried. I know one year our team had to pay $5K for the year just to be a Sorcerer. So each team had to budget that into there player fees. Sorcerer player fees were high and there was part of the reason. And there coaches get paid.

GB69..I get it now!!!!

All orgs want you to pay to use their name, facility and paying coaches!! I get it, but some orgs have no business charging anything.

That's why we are seeing way too many water down teams now days...Orgs with (4/5 teams) 14's teams....All about the money!!!! Some of these teams should play USSSA or NSA, not A-Ball!!!

I haven't seen too many watered-down Sorcerer teams over the years. Opinions may vary, but $25-$35/month org fee for what that org provides seems like a more than reasonable deal in the bigger picture.

jtat32...I agree about fees for sure, but 4 and 5 teams in one age group is just silly!!! Make 2 very good teams and have kids earn the spot/title of being with org!!!

Sorcerer NEVER watered down, but this the 1st time you have dads coaching at all ages tho!!!

After you been through this a few times and have watched and talked to many others, its all RELATIVE. Its more than likely not greener on other side, and when you spend your "softball" dollar, you better take a look at the whole picture.

Well, you can play for the Grapettes and pay decent Summer fees , and you have no facility to hit in other than the shoe box the crazy man has, your expected to participate in fundraising, and your required to take hitting lessons, which cost you even more, and on top of that you have to play for the nut case and he is in a league of his own, plus he ran off the only thing he had that was positive, good asst's, so how green is that grass  .

Or, you can play for one of the other Grapes 18's team's pay similar fee's and have zero coaching and play in garbage tournaments and/or be stuck in Palmdale or Lancaster, while everyone else is in HB, and have to deal with the nut case taking your teammates whenever he feels the need, i feel the love here.....

Or, you can play for R&R pay up the ying yang, have no facility that i know of, have no coaching, wear mustard stained horrendous uniforms, play in IFA or whatever he does, expected to fund raise, and/or play in Palmdale or Lancaster and play your national championship in beautiful Texas in August. Grass needs some water bad!

Or you can play for AASA, have 2k+ in fees and have a roster of 20 and bat 9 in showcase format  , but get to be to on good fields, one of best asst coachs around, drive to Woodland to practice, coachs have nice rental cars at tourney's  ,any greener yet?

Or, you can play for Sting, pay all the money, practice in bay area, play for the circus act and the dad show, have fun  howz that grass?

Or you can play for the Sorcerer's, pay hefty fee's, have mulitple sets of the nicest uniforms money can buy, ZERO fundraising, practice at a very nice college field, have a facility to practice in when weather is bad, play against the very best every weekend, play in Boulder, Play PGF Natl's, and have a really really good shot at winning a title, sure this program has its problems (like new green Gold coachs), just like EVERYONE has problems! bring your check book  any greener? !

I wont even get into the "mid majors", the OBS's of the world, its not worth the effort. I will give it to ILB his team did qualify for PGF which is pretty good accomplishment considering the talent he works with, other than that I will leave all those "type" teams alone, as the grass is real green over in those parts

BTW genderbender69 , we already know by the "out of the blue" post that your an ex disgruntled Sorcerer parent so, why dont you feel us in, "Sorcerer paid coachs", this is news to me, they must be making all kinds of dough  btw, I dont count airfare/hotel/rental car/food a "paid" coach, that is just covering expenses, as do most top programs. A paid coach is someone drawing a salary and/or forcing kids to come to hitting lessons, plus his expenses.

SO, when its all said and done, everyone pays big money and it can be broken down however you want it (player fees', coachs fees, org fees, cage fee's, mandatory hittng fee's), and its all a matter of where your kid fits in and what amount of craziness you want to stick her in as, its not greener on the other side, so pick your poison!
