If you do your job as a parent or coach, then it shouldn't be an issue. Should it? But then again if you aren't doing your job, then don't expect someone else to do it for you. All showcase's are based on the teams contacting schools. Bottom line. The tournament director can only do so much.

I would say they are not competing for the same teams.

This weekend virtually every college coach of any significance will be in Denver at Independence Day Boulder, Fireworks, or Sparkler. I wouldn't count on anything but local Div. II and III and not very many of those.

Not true at all. There are many coaches that do not attend the Colorado tournaments, especially after you take in consideration the current economic situation. Also, where do you think most of the girls will go play in college. The vast majority of all softball players are in DII, DIII, and NAIA. It is nothing to be ashamed about.

You seem to have a huge chip on your shoulder. Are you personally involved in this money-making "showcase?" My post made no reference to the merits of playing Div. II, III, or NAIA. It was a statement of facts about where the majority of major universities, including most major Div. II, III, and NAIA schools' coaches will be that weekend.

Let's see what the post of "attending colleges" looks like after this "showcase." I'll be waiting to see if your realistic expectations are met. No one will be happier than me if another showcase tournament gets a kid a chance to play college ball.

You most certainly did make an assumption about the non value of having DII and DIII schools at a tournament. I simple brought to light that most players will not get a sniff at D1, and that the other options are better in most cases.

We'll see if that statement has any validity on July 6th . . .
