How did it go this weekend at "America's Finest City" showcase?

Are the college scouts really out this early?

Was TD lurking around looking for players?

America's Finest City Winter Tournament went off with no problems. The rain was a scare early Saturday morning but we made it through Saturday, though the howls throughout the night during the Chargers games drew attention away from the games, and Sunday was a beautiful blue clear sky day.

Some college scouts but not many as expected as we had to change our date from January 17-18 due to the 18 Gold ASA Qualifying Tournament that weekend. No siting of TD.

I find the Cruisers score surprising. Such is the way of exposure tournaments.

Word has it that San Diego Thunder 14U will not be coached by Dodd any longer.
The remaining players and their families stayed together and ousted him in favor of a new coach.

So players CHOSE to try out for his team, he selected his team from the players trying out, and then the parents chose to get rid of the guy.....the inmates are running the asylum once again...now their lovely DD's will think that they get to fire their bosses when they get older....nice...

Well that's the word I got but it could be that the Thunder Organization didn't like the way he represented their program and replaced him ...I don't know.

Without Dodd, there is no Thunder...they get out recruited by the Breakers, Renegades, Power Surge, et al...

Blackwidow,

I was told that Tom folded the team shortly after Christmas, at which time he was down to six or seven players. He was not "ousted" by the remaining players and their families.

As to your comment and Sam's comment re the Thunder organization, Tom started a team call SD Thunder a long time ago. I do not believe his teams were ever affiliated with other teams in various age groups which were also named SD Thunder.

Okay..well that is what I heard. That Dodd's remaining 7-8 players are still together and that they are being coached by someone else.
From someone that is still on the team.

Maybe I am misinformed. It wouldn't be the first time!!
