Gold Classification tournaments

by OCTravelCoach » Tue Jan 06, 2009 5:33 pm

Can someone tell me what fields the January and February ASA 18 Gold classification tournaments are being played at?

Also, are the brackets/schedules for January posted any where?

It's nearly impossible to find if you're not in the tournament.

Thanks

It's on the socal asa webpage:

With only 52 teams entered, odds of getting 1 of 36 classification is looking good.

Actually, 24 are suppose to classify in the first tournament and an additional 16 in the second classification tournament.

I would definitely put my best foot forward in the first tournament because if the second tournament gets rained out, they just might have to take the top 40 from the first tournament.

It looks like the final tally is 64 teams entered. The So Cal ASA website is updated. The email we received this morning said the games will start next Friday at 6:00. The draw is this Friday at 6:30 in Ontario.

For all the So Cal teams which don’t make the cut, what are the plans for summer?

Will So Cal be making a legitimate assault at 18A Nationals this year or will these teams not bother?

Since Gold has no requirement to register where most of your players are from, why wouldnt those teams in doubt just register their team up in norcal somewhere where they have no qualifying procedure???

That statement is not true. You have to have a certain number of players from your specific region. Not sure what the number is.

So, after the classification tournaments, Bracketologist will have to completely revise the 14U Top Team Rankings! :o
