High School Season

I thought I heard that McCutcheon has another good pitcher, lefty I believe.

The Hoosier Crossroad Conference is going to be a dog fight. Carmel will have two (potential) D1 pitchers on staff, along with the younger kids having another year under their belt. Noblesville, really didn't lose anyone, and also have two pretty good pitchers, and return the core players. Fishers should be improved. And of course, HSE is still loaded, with good pitching, and good hitting.

I know that they had the opportunity to hire a really good coach, but chose not to go that route, and went the "Luthern" pick. Hopefully they just hand it to Lewis and let her sling it.

Looking in or Danible, regarding Lutheran, is this a player or parent boycott. What a shame, talented players on team. They are on our schedule, hope team remains intact, always nice to play a talented team early in the year.

Da60 - I am really not in the know about Luthern. I just know they missed an opportunity to hire a very good coach with an impressive travel resume. I know they chose someone with no experience, but was part of the "Luthern" family tree. That is probably the issue. I know that Lewis just signed with Tennessee-Martin, so I wouldn't be suprised to see her not play if it turns into a joke. Why chance an injury. Its a shame, really.

4A:

Avon in their sectional

Dogfight between Carmel, Noblesville, HSE and almost everyone in that sectional

War between Center Grove, Whiteland, FC in that sectional

3A:

New Pal in a cake walk till the finals and maybe not even then.

Lutheran: All the quote "big names" mentioned in the earlier post are going to workouts so expect them on the field. They also have 3 new kids with travel experience joining the usual suspects and have a quality number 2 pitcher in that group that should help keep innings off of Lewis as well. Yes the new coach has no coaching experience, but did play 4 years of D1 ball, but with 9 or 10 kids that play travel ball how much coaching really needs to be done.

Is it June yet so that we can go watch some quality travel ball?????

Sorry bucketboy, not even close to summer travel ball, and I to am missing the sunshine and competition...glad to hear the girls at Lutheran are playing(selfish reasons as they are a quality team on our high school schedule)...don't know the coaching situation, but you can do a lot worse than a former D1 player coaching your high school team.

I'm extremely happy with HS season so far. DD got her brand new pair of Ringor Diamond Gems on Thursday. Took them to school Friday for practice and put them in her locker for zero period, comes back after 5th, GONE!!!!!

Second time this year that her PE locker has been broken into. 500.00 I am out. LOVE HS SPORTS.

Good thing is, HS coach is not going to let it go and is having Supervision review the tapes of the entrances to the locker room and see if we can see who may have taken them. I hope that we get something and I can't wait to press charges.

I LOVE our HS COACH!!!! She is GREAT and really cares about her girls!!!

A little news from the Region.

Teams to click in 09.

4A Lake Central, Munster
3A Andrean
2A Hanover Central, Boone Grove
1A Whiting (if Mel D. recovers from knee injury) without Mel, hopeless.

Potential surprises: Chesterton, Portage, Lowell

I think we will send a couple of teams to the championship. Not sure if we can win the big one.
Looking forward to the season. This has been a very rough winter in Northwest, Indiana.

Hey lumpy, is Mel D a senior this year? If so, is she playing college ball anywhere next year? The region has some very talented players. We used to play some NSA tournaments in and around Portage a few years ago.

Mel is a senior. Didn't now about the knee injury. Since she is already signed with Texas A&M, you never know.
