If they make it to the championship game let 'em sleep in. How many teachers do you know who schedule exams for Monday morning anyways?

A championship game, in 12U, that starts at 8:00pm is RIDICULOUS!! (Especially on Sunday when they have school the next day and have played 3-4 games). My daughter has finals that week. It reminds me of State last year with the late games.

My daughter's bed time is 10:00 and one of our other pitchers goes to bed at 9:00 so that is unacceptable and bad for their health and education. Some kids drive from over two hours away for this tournament so they wouldn't get home til almost midnight.

When do they ever take the KIDS into consideration? Anybody that has kids would know that is CRAZY!!!!!

I could see some of the teams forfeiting that (like the Gold teams do so often when it gets that late...especially when the tournament doesn't mean anything).

Coin flip... Whoever makes the championship game will have nothing more to prove, I agree it's a little too late and they should have limited the teams to a more reasonable number like 48. JMO

Bad for their health and education? Having Finals sux. That will be tough. But, although thats a late start time, I promise your Daughter will "recover" from going to bed too late, if your team makes the Championship.

Yes, sleep is important for anyone's health much less a growing 12 year old and being a teacher, I think finals are fairly important.

If you don't have the grades, you won't be playing softball in HS or college so education comes first in my mind. Our priorites are family, education, and softball.

If my daughter makes the Championship, we will recover at 8:01 when we get in our cars and head home.

My dad use to say that he would never let school get in the way of his kid's education (he was a teacher).

Who has finals in January? Aren't they at the end of the year? Hence the name final.

Uhm, my kids are finishing up their MID TERM finals today. Then they get the brain fade Monday off to recoup.

I would understand about the sleep "deprivation" if, say, your team was practicing till 10pm EVERY night. But, come on. ONE NIGHT? Your kid is gonna have a meltdown from staying up late ONE NIGHT? Wow. As for finals, I know my DD has mid terms. They finished em yesterday. I promise, IF your DD's team makes the Championship, and she stays up till 10pm, she wont melt.........

See what I mean? Look at what lack of sleep does to folks! lol! I was looking at the 14s! Still, 8pm is still a little late, but it's only one Sunday and kids can sleep in the car....

well, rain finally arrived...raining pretty good in OC...hopefully it will not affect the tournament, or make the sleep deprivation a moot point...

I guess the watch is on to see how things play out with the rain. It hasn't been too heavy, but just curious if they will be able to keep them dry enough to start first thing in the morning. This schedule is so packed I can't see how they will be able to make-up any games? Forecast has no rain for Saturday or Sunday.

I guess I will keep checking Heybucket, because someone on here usually knows what is going on before anything is even announced.

radar shows it should be about done...the dirt at the sports complex is so packed and hard as a rock, hopefully the rain will soften it up a little, without flooding it...
