Let's change the subject and get off the high school crap!!!

What's the over/under on how many 16u teams will be entered in the ASA qualifiers this summer.

Wouldn't it suck to have 8am games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a qualifier. Hope you coaches have plenty of vacation time cause the games are going to start early on Friday's this summer.

I wouldn't shock me to see 24 plus teams in a qualifier.

Bucketboy you crack me up...anyway, we are an 18u team, but I am curious about the number of really strong 16u teams...do most play ASA or is NSA still a viable option at 16u...how many IN 16u teams could qualify for ASA nationals...again just curious, but I do like watching the teams when the tournaments combine 18u and 16u.

bucketboy 24 teams does not seem to far off.
With over 70 teams (possible 80+) in the 16U Indiana based teams, if you divide them equal in ASA and NSA / A and B groups with percentage playing in both associations, very possible.
Unfortunately with that many teams, teams are watered down and competition levels are lowered. So if the berths are not passed on to nonqualified teams, will you have as many teams entered in later tournaments as early tournaments? Will teams enter tournaments heavy on weekends with exposure tournaments on the same weekends, hoping the better team goes to the exposure?

If all the teams that said they play an all ASA schedule show up, this summer will suck!! Every weekend will start at 8am on friday! Way to many "16U" teams this year!! Had 3 teams last year make the move to 16U with a year of 14U left, now everybody thinks they need to! There may be 8 16U teams worth a crap and the rest need to be playing "B" ball!! After seeing a handful of sportzone tournaments this off season, the only team looking decent is the gators! they have played everything this fall and winter! That team will be burnt out come mid-june!! With 6 bids to nationals this year, this state will send 2 maybe 3 teams to South Dakota that have NO chance of making a run!! We haven't even seen the best 16U teams play this winter/fall, atleast at full strength! Should be interesting!

Here here to the Stingray's on the weekend of the State Tournament.

Why would our fearless ASA leader change the weekend of the state tournament to conflict again and move it up a week. Now other than Orland Park there is not much to play that weekend.

Here's my 16u list for top of the pack teams and I am sure I will miss one or two so keep me in line.

1. Shockwaves
2. Dreams Eric's
3. Gators
4. Akadema
5. Chaos
6. Dreams Reese if they play up
7. Crusherz out of the western part of the state
8.
9.

8 and 9 are the ones I forgot about so fill in the blanks.

Then my prediction will be 3 or 4 of these teams will be in the same half of the bracket in the first qualifier so they can beat each other up so that some weak team can advance in the bottom half.

Can't wait to see the first draw to see if I am right.

Canocorn, you mentioned your team is going to be playing an exposure the weekend of the State tournament...do you not have to play the State in order to meet the ASA requirement to participate in the National tournaments? Or is South Dakota such a long shot for most IN 16u A teams that you guys decided on a exposure friendly schedule? Looking in or anyone for that matter, does any IN team consider the Northern Nationals which I think is in St. Louis for 16u A or is it South Dakota or bust? Again, what about NSA nationals, which everyone knows is much easier to qualify for.

Wow bucketboy the Diamond Chix, Xplosion, Fire, Terror might want to disagree with you, but if Troy shows up it usually doesn't matter about the rest (so far or still)

We are playing in Stingrays the weekend of state and from my understanding is that to qualify, you have to play at the ASA State Tournament on July 10-12.
We are playing Diamonds of the South and the State games, but it will be all for not, because we will not be around for the state Tment. We made this decision last summer.
Also, Dreams-Reese and Chix are playing at Stingrays also. So that thins the herd of three pretty good teams. We felt we had just as good shot at getting a bid to SD as the next team.
