Alot of Freshman are 94's! But it doesn't matter! All i am trying to say is some of these teams can and may stay at 16U another year! My dd will be moving to 18 next with a year of 16u left.
I agree with bucketboy, everybody needs to get together and have a beer!Canocorn, i'm buying your first beer!! Or, better yet, cold ones in the hotel parking lot this summer!!

Sounds good! Look for an overweight gray-haired fat guy, who still thinks he can get it done like he is 18... :D

One team that isn't getting much noise on here, are the Wizards. Brian has quietly put together a very good team! If they show up and have the heads in it, they can play with anybody!! Plus, he has 2 Very good pitchers!! He got the Girl from Lemings Dream team that he has had forever! They should be watched also!

When you stop and think about it, a lot of talented 16u girls playing softball in IN...and this includes all the gifted ones who more often than not are holding their own against the very talented "name" players. Encouraging. Believe you me, the first 18u/16u combo tournament, I'm going to be looking for you guys to have a stocked cooler and I'm bumming a cold coors light. Although I did say in a previous post I would buy at a local watering hole the first away tournament. Thought it might be Diamonds of South, but we are in Jasper.

You are right, they are good and will sneak up on some teams. They just don't play very much in the fall and winter, probably due to multi-sport athletes. I still think the more you play the better you become, especially at this age. There is so much growth mentally between 14 and 16, it benefits to play and to have good coaching. Lemings losing a player. Not really a suprise I guess. He still looking for players and holding tryouts and we have yet to see them at all this fall or winter.

da60 wrote:bucketboy, thanks for the info on Lewis...Xtreme91 is a team we have not seen this year, so I was not sure she was still playing for them...I agree with your rankings on the Gold teams...Bell probably gives Dreams a bit of an edge this year...plus, I had heard Esparza was nursing a shoulder injury, although she is back to pitching.

Xtreme91 flies quietly under the radar, not alot of press or pub. But they might be the best of them all, including the "Golds". Morgan is a very, very good pitcher and it overshadows the fact that she can flat out pound the ball. They have a good support staff and can hit the ball. In a one game playoff, they would be tough to beat. Take Morgan off the team, then we have another argument, but that can be said about all teams with great pitching.

Who's he losing? Only has 8 as of now, as 16U goes! Why is not a surprise? He has had a strong team for the last 3 or 4 years!!?? Can't lose any more, or they are done!

You said he lost a player to the Wizards and I was saying, him losing her probably isn't a suprise. Past tense. Why does he only have 8 players? I understand the Dreams name carries some weight, but why is he having trouble getting and keeping quality players? Last year they were very average.
