Why is Texas Glory Adkins 16U in a 14u Tournament

by fstptchbtch » Sat Feb 07, 2009 10:26 pm

I saw where Texas Glory Adkins 16u was signed up for and aproved for a 14u tornament in Allen in March.

What is that all about??

Why does anyone care? Until this "new" organization does anything at all on a softball diamond I personally don't think they are worth talking about. All anyone keeps talking about is how there are a bunch of "weak" players moving to this organization, so why does everyone keep bringing them up. To me they aren't significant yet, and if the reports are true, they may never be significant.

um.....let's see, they have quite a few girls that are 8th graders and 14U eligible, their freshman are playing HS ball, and maybe, just maybe, they want their 8th graders to be able to start playing! Hello it's called developing you're players! Sorry to be so sarcastic, but come on people. BTW, I know of some of the players they have on this team (not just the former fusion girls), and they will be a good team IMHO. :ugeek:

Hello Honcho55,
How is the family and H.S. ball going. Hope well. I agree with you, the Glory org. always puts a good product on the field. I am sure no tournament is going to let an older age group sign up for a lesser tournament than they are qualified for, so if a 16u group signs for a 14u tournament, I would bet that all are qualified to play 14u especially since most 16u's are playing High school ball. All teams that have H. S. players, are still playing for the younger kids on the team. Good luck to all. See ya on the dirt. My 2 cents

yellowball....family is doing well and this HS ball is actually pretty interesting. I have 2 playing, one freshman on varsity, and one on JV(she decided 3-4 years off was long enough). Hard to get excited about travelball when we can't play till may(more or less). Hope your family is doing well and look forward to seeing everyone again on the dirt! :ugeek:

Hey Honcho,

Tell "her" congrats from us on the new hs team! That's a great accomplishment to be at such a big name school as a varsity freshman.

Hopefully we'll get to come watch her in some post season play!

thanks 3B, good luck to your daughter on her new team! We'll hopefully see you soon, I'll still be selling those fine shaved ice products at the spring tournaments. Can't believe we are getting ready to play our first tourney in a week and a half. The Bryan Varsity tournament(supposed to be one of the best HS tourneys in the state.

BIG HONCH, tell Mac we said congrats also. It is a great accomplishment for these kids to make varsity as a freshman at any school especially one with tradition like that. I know she will do fine, she is a good player and a good kid. This H.S. ball is fun and all, but it just isn't as exciting as the TB. [to me anyways]. Good luck at the big tourny. we are playing in a H.S. tourny that weekend also but I don't know where. You can tell how pumped up I am. Holler at me, CHAP OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that its a different animal, and I miss TB as well, but HS ball is a real eye opener...just not the level of talent as TB top to bottom. Tell yours congrats as well, hopefully we'll get to see them play. Hope this finds you and your family doing well! Holla :ugeek:
