I get to experience my daughter playing college softball(at least a tiny bit!) This Saturday is the Alumni game!!! At first DD said it was lust for the players, but I learned many parents were going(they miiss it like I do!) The Alumni are taking the game seriously with new t-shirts and a vow to beat the current team. I guess I get at least one more chance to live through my DD
Excellent turn-out- 16 Alumni showed up- from 2009- to last year. There were a large number of parents too(I guess I'm not the only lunatic ) It was a great reunion for us too. Even my wife wants to make it an annual thing for us. Very pleased with how tight my daughter is with her past team-mates(they are all real close) They still do a lot of things socially and keep in touch. ALL of them also have the starts to very successful careers- very nice too see
A friend of my daughter who works for Citi and played DIII softball in the NESCAC was asked to play with CitiGroup at a client softball game with all the big clients on Monday at CitiField! (home of the Mets)
After spending this halloween with her "retired" former teammates(class of 2013,2014, and 2015) My DD and her friends, empowered by their performance in the alumni game, have decided for "one last show" and are signing up to compete in an 18+ tournament next June
I think I was as fired up as my DD. The girls decided that it would be fun for them and the parents for one last hurrah. Best thing it was their idea(and they all have jobs and are paying for it themselves)
