POLL: How Big is your...

What's on your mind?

by Clean_up » Wed Feb 18, 2009 3:13 pm

DD#1 is 16-1/2 5'2 stocky, strong kid and swings a 33/23 Stealth (Warranty replacement!) she also has a 33/23 Mayhem she used waiting for her warranty replacement -- looking next to get Demarini I think, she likes an even feel, but for her size would a 34/24 be too long? Not worried about the weight, she could handle that.

DD#2 is 12, 5'3 avg weight, just starting to grow and swings a 32/22 Stealth and has a 31/22 RT she rarely uses the RT, although she hit great with the 30/21 all through 10U. Switched to -10 for some reason, lighter feel I guess (Have to ask DAD!)

Hearing good things about the Techzilla on here, which is better TZ or Demarini bats (unfamiliar with all the Demarini bats, so not sure which one would be best to compare)

Thanks!

I highly recommend the Techzilla over the Demarini bat all day long....We have had great success with the Techzilla first hand!

DD is 17, 5' 7" and it's none of your dang business how much she weighs. Unfortunately, her 33/24 Rocketech is buried somewhere in the garage not being used at all since she is currently without a team and decided to forego HS ball this year.

Don't know a thing about the 30/18, but the blue and white Mayhem is crap. DD put at least 5000 hits on that thing (including batting practice, etc.), and it didn't open up one iota. And it was dead to begin with. I gave it to NU up at state last year, so now whoever he donated it to is stuck with it.

Both DD's swing Catalysts. DD #1 is now 19 and used the 34"/24 oz. DD #2 just turned 13 and wings the 33"/23 oz.

DD swings fungo bat. The 4.5 inch barrel makes up for the plastic material. Has great bat speed though.

Mayhem's are junk! Found one broke in half(orange & blue) in trash can at a local ball park. Pulled it out and sent it in for return. Worth sent back new 08 model(31/21 white, green & blue), DD @ 9yrs old hated it. Let a few other people swing it, none of them interested so it ended up back in the same can I found it in. Even rolled it as much as possible, no diff! DD is swinging 31/21 techzilla & stealth. Very happy with both. Swung the demarini phenix last year, good pop but not that durable, cracked after less than 100 swings.
Clutch play isn't about luck; it's about presence of mind!
