A nightmare that ended up ok!
First off I want to thank all the teams that came out,
12's
So Cal ELite
Rialto Rage
Norco Fillys
14's
Sudden Impact 95
Norco Fillys
So Cal Wrecking Crew
IE Extreme (NO SHOW)
At the last minute we had the city shut us down to play where we had planned. Nice fields close together, great restrooms! What a crazy situation rounding up a location at the last minute. We are very greatful to the responsible parties for getting us alternative fields.
We now had two fields (very thankful), each at a great distance from each other. A very long walk. No bathrooms and no way to centrally locate our snack bar. Well I had porta pottys brought in late Sat afternoon, of which I got in trouble for doing, but I begged for forgiveness after not knowing what I had done was not allowed. We set up our snack bar the best we could. Then appoligized to each team at 8 o'clock at night for the location changes, etc.
Every team was awesome! They adjusted well and I did not hear any complaints!
Here is the kicker....IE Xtreme, no showed!!! Spoke to their coach Sat night at 8 pm to confirm and he was in!! Now I have 14's not getting in their games. We played a 4th and Fillys 12U played a 4th (I know older teams do not generally like to play younger ones) and Sudden impact bowed out gracefully, without complaints, after only getting in 2 games. Unfortunatley no other 12 could play another, understandably!
All in all and its craziness, I feel things went pretty well! I hope everyone that intended had a decent day of games. I really do thank the coaches, players and parents for all their support. Thanks for working through our changes.
With the cost of the porta pottys, the extra umpire fees due to playing an extra game, I will be thankful if we break even after snack bar proceeds. Profit was not the goal today, playing softball was!!!
We all had such a spell since our last games with rain, it was great to play!!!
Thanks again to all of you!!
