Concert Mine is Harry Chapin ... had tickets to see him when he was killed on the Long Island Expressway ( heart attack & wreck I think ) in New York a few days before the show. :(

Broadway Play Late 70's early 80's...I think it was The Wiz ... I was dating a School Teacher who had students that knew somebody who knew somebody and got her two seats front and center ... the shows were sold out a year in advance as I remember ... It was late summer and a team I was on made it into the play-offs ... 1st game conflicted with the show ... Needless to say I was no longer dating the School Teacher ... We were rained out in the second inning

I think for me it would be The Last Waltz. That vinyl that got tons of play in my world. Sure would have liked to see that line-up live!

Even tho I made two attempts to see Van Halen, I have never been successful. The first time was in 1978 when Van Halen opened for Black Sabbath. We got lost on the way to the venue and missed their opening act. When they came back through again, they were huge and headlining an arena. We didn't have tickets but we went anyway. My best friend got thrown in jail. We could have purchased tix at face value from a scalper, but the girls had the money and went somewhere to pee. We never did get tickets, just stood outside the place for half the night.

Well, the memory is a little fuzzy after all these years, and my state of mind at the time was a little fuzzy too. ;) We were under the drinking age, so of course we were drinking beer outside the stadium because we couldn't buy it inside. An officer picked my friend out of the crowd and asked for his ID, although we were all standing around with a beer in our hand. My friend was carrying a six pack and handed it to me just before he got carted off, but other officers who were nearby didn't ask me for an ID or take the beer. I made some smart ass remark as I tended to do back in my youth, and an officer got right in my face, but again, never asked for my ID or took the beer away from me. Just another night on the other side of life.....
