Lyrics are Pure genius:
last bit....................

It's not his fault that he can't behave
Society made him go astray
Perhaps if we're nice he'll go away
Perhaps he'll go away
He'll go away-ay

Only a lad
He really couldn't help it
Only a lad
He didn't want to do it
Only a lad
He's underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused

Hey there Johnny- you really don't fool me
You get away with murder
And you think it's funny
You don't give a damn if we live or if we die
Hey there Johnny boy
I hope you fry!

Well then, you have to include some DEVO in there:

Gut Feeling:
something about the way you taste
makes me want to clear my throat

and of course:

Mongoloid:
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
happier than you and me
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
and it determined what he
could see
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
one chromosome too many
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
and it determined what he
could see
and he wore a hat
and he had a job
and he brought home the bacon
so that no one knew
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
his friends were unaware
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
nobody even cared

DEVO was somewhat of a novelty, but you can't deny their influence on today's music, AND they were one of the first bands to make music videos...

Ahhh, Devo...

It's a beautiful world we live in
Sweet romantic place
Beautiful people everywhere
The way they show they care
Makes me want to say
It's a beautiful world
For you
For you
For you
It's not for me

And who can forget Working in a Coal Mine

Lord...
I am soooo tired
How loooong can this go oooon
There is no charge for awesomeness
...or attractiveness.

Devo's first album was so good. I thought of putting it on my favorite debut albums. After whip it they pretty much were doomed to write rugrat sountracks.

I suffer from the same problem my kids do.Which is I like a song, play it to death and never want to hear it again. So it is hard to come up with a favorite song.
Right now I have been ruining Weezer's greatest man that ever lived.
Don't you know bout the bird...Everybody knows the bird is the word.

For me ... because I pick bluegrass .... but my musical tastes are so eclectic ... to narrow it down to anywhere near 5 songs would be crazy ... I thought about posting by genre but couldn't do that either ...

Journey, Dont Stop Believin holds all five spots.

Hey ... at least it wasn't Sugar Sugar by the Archies ... or even worse ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG1SVKipKZE
.... and with all due respect, my Mate sez it would have been scarier if this was Ace's top five
