Pair-of-dice tournamnet

What's on your mind?

by sftbldad » Thu Mar 05, 2009 11:31 am

As a team in the 10u division we are trying to decide between the pair - of - dice tournament in Vegas or the Big League Dreams tourny in Catherdal City. Unfortunatly we missed the st. paddys day registration. I like the though of playing different teams from surrounding states, but so far only one team is registered in the pair of dice tourny vs. eight in the BLD... who's been there and have an opinion... thanks

Have you tried to get in to St Paddy's? Pools aren't up yet so my guess is they would let you in. One more entry fee to pocket.

We are the other team signed up for Pair A Dice Tourney...it kinda sucks when you make plans and no other team signed up... We are also signed up for Start of Spring Tourney in Barstow the weekend of Mar 21 and 22 and no one else is.

hmmmm maybe its me.... do I smell??

I found another Barstow Tourney put on by Desert Blaze the same weekend as Pair A Dice that already has 2 in it put on by NSA and a USSSA Vegas tourney May 2 and 3 that has 2 in it as well. Oh well just some other info.... hope it helps... I thinks its fun for the girls to travel a little and stay in a hotel.
Too bad, so sad, bye bye

sounds like you both should save your team funds and find a field locally. Double header each other on Saturday and find another 3 game friendly for sunday. 5 games guarented for less then 250 with no hotel fees... probably save a lot of money for the families for later in the season on a more meaningful occasion. just suggestion...

edited.... after rereading...
awwww, its 10U... let 'em play in the hotel halls! go where there are teams at BLD... just dont forget the Platinum card...

The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to call Sally Commerford and try and get in the St Paddy's tournament if you are really interested in going to Vegas....I am sure they would NEVER turn down $$$

Suprisingly TCS turned down money for the Presidents Day Tourny but thats another story...
I just wish I had seen the HB post sooner concerning the St. Paddys day tourny but alsa we are already finacially commited to another toury that weekend, which is why I was asking about the one in April. Wanted to know if all the tournaments get the same amount of teams from the various surrounding states. I believe we will heed sportzjunky's advice and play the BLD Tourny, and save the parents an extra 2 hours of drive time alone in the car with their 10 year olds.

BTW - I have no idea what I would be doing if not for HB - although sometimes I logoff actually feeling like I lost some knowledge somewhere in the forum...

you're reading the IQ scale backwards again. Unlike golf, the higher the number the better.. :o

It's 10U. You'll know what I mean if a few years.

Go where the teams are, let the kids have fun.
