You do play in a weak district and have one of the easier runs to the finals. Gold players hit your pitcher pretty regularly, so don't be so confident. Solid team with great pitching, yes; unbeatable, no. Wins against strong teams are too close to call yourselves champions making HISTORY yet.

Wow! 93Players, that's some pretty harsh words about Bowie. I watched Bowie this weekend, and they're a good group of kids. Parents are nice, too. Their fans travel and support their team. I didn't hear anyone annointing themselves champions; just a lot of cheering for their team. Bowie was part of a very tough tournament this weekend. But I suppose you think Houston Bellaire and their OSU-bound pitcher is some slouch. I can assure they're not; they were terrific. And by the way, Bowie faced nothing but fast teams this past weekend with plenty of slappers. Didn't matter. Ultimately, as you suggest, they will have to prove it on the field, weak district or not. All they can do is play their schedule, make the playoffs, and beat all comers. Maybe Bowie will win it all, maybe they won't. At least two things are certain: getting back to the state finals is very tough; and whether or not they do, they won't do it in the undignified way that you suggest. You couldn't be more wrong about that. Is Bowie determined? Yes. Are they on a mission? Yes, again. Are they confident, yes, indeed. You would be, too, if Blair Luna was pitching for your team. Are they arrogant? Not on your life. Good luck to your favorite team this year. And have a nice day.

One of these coaches of a fast team needs to bunt and slap every time and we will see if the DAWGS can get to the ball or fall over their words. Talk to tha Patriots coach about this year and last. 93.....Bitterness so early in the season.........you must play in Bowie's district !!! Tough to get past good pitching, isn't it? Gold players may hit off her regularly, so what's your point.......they're not playing Gold tournaments...........it's HIGH SCHOOL softball !!!
It seems that the only thing Bowie is shining right now is the Trophy thay won this past weekend. It's not a "State Championship" but it's a good start against a good field..........How did your team do this weekend?
A close win against a strong team is still a WIN, it doesn't matter what the score is !! especially against a good team.....Again what's your point?

The girls will play it all out on the field........and it seems to me that they're playing up to their Pre-Season ranking, but it's still a long road..................and like every year there will be a State Champion !

Looks like Bowie is not making "History" just yet. 3-3 this weekend with a run rule game loss against Katy, an "easy" win against Westlake, and an "unfortunate" loss with Birdville. I guess they can take the "bullseye" off their back. Bowie plays in a weak district and they will not be tested very much outside of these non-district tournaments. Lets really see who is number one in state and in the nation by playing the game on the field.

I have watched Bowie several times this year as my DD has played in 2 of the same tournaments that Bowie has played this pre-season.

She has not played against Bowie in either of those tournaments (HSSL tournament and the Westlake tournament) - but she has studied their team (and their pitcher).

We came away VERY impressed with their team. In this last tournament (HSSL) it looked like B.L. was having some real issues w/ her pitching hand (I have no clue waht it was ie: cut finger / blister / etc) but she definately tried to "tough it out".

Quick asisde - The Katy Pitcher is going to be someone you all need to "keep an eye out" for... she is a FRESHMAN - and has already beaten Bowie and pitched two GREAT games against Klein Oak (losing each - but pitched great none the less). my DD played tournament ball with her for the last two years.... she now pitches for Impact Gold.

The Katy v Bowie became a blow after Luna left (they were down when she left - but not but more than a run or two).

Everyone here who has watched more then a few (hundred) softball games... as we all have - knows what a HUGE factor Momentum can be... and Katy got the "Mo" once she left!


Bowie's fans - All Class. I spoke to one Dad from Bowie in Austin and was in their stands for two games (as they played b4 my DD each time) and I NEVER heard anything that I would find disrespectful.

My daughter has faced (playing Gold ball) - R. Fox / Bree Brown / Kat Espinosia / Shelby Lancaster / etc. and the list goes on and on... she said her HER opinion - R. Fox and B. Luna are the best pitcher she has ever faced in Texas.

We should not be hating on the kids / schools - let's just enjoy the games... 'cause they will be gone soon enough!

The Freshman is a good pitcher. She isn't the only Freshman contributing to the teams success. There are "other" Freshman. The one at 3rd also plays Gold ball as well. She will pitch and play 3rd for the Sting Gold.

Katy has played really strong defense behind all of the pitchers. Led by Haack, Tyler and Holl. This is why there is so much success, good pitching aside.

Katy has faced Luna, Brown, Lancaster, Gremillion so far. Brown has been the toughest. We see Espinosa Friday.

My DD faced the pitcher from Manvel in the Fall. She signed with Southern Miss. I would not consider her any less than the ones mentioned above.

HOWEVER - Super K is the only player on the entire Katy Roster that I know.... and seeing how she and my daughter are BFF's and how well she has been playing for you guys - i thought a little "shout out" to her was in order.

I have heard good things about the other freshmen pitcher that moved in from Georgia... wow - what a great situation for Katy HS to be in.

Jeez, I sure wish a pitcher would move into DD's school area. It seems all the experienced pitchers are in other schools except ours
