You need to watch the Tarheels play when everybody goes Tarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Heeeeeeeeeeelssssssss over and over (Same Thing Mr. Sensitive). Please stop using the 12 U girls as a decoy to make your point! The only one who has a problem with it are people like you point blank!!! I have seen so many parents cursing at their kids when the game was over because they didn't win or didn't play well and now the Rebel cheer is a bad thing!!! Stop Reaching..............Please......You people who have a problem with it need serious counseling period!! I bet if you daughter played on our team it wouldn't be a problem right??? LOL

The Rebel Chant is not a cheer.
It intimidates and frightens many of the opposing players. And you know this.
You must. You can see it in the eyes of the opposing pitcher when she glances up at the phalanx of screaming adults in your bleachers.
You employ the chant to kick the other team when they're down.
It is unsportsmanlike at this age level.
It is the primary reason incidents such as the one Sunday always seem to involve your team.
It is the reason your team is the most reviled in SoCal Travel Ball.
It reflects poorly on your yourselves, your coaches, and most importantly, your daughters.
Parents don't respond well when their children are being frightened and intimidated by a group of adults.
The Rebel Chant is not a cheer, it is a provocation.
If you weren't aware before this, you are now.
In the future, please conduct yourselves accordingly.![]()

For self defense? Hmmmm So why don't you answer, what would you have done in that situation? If you defended yourself from psycho dad, would you think you should be banned?
For starters I'd bring a taser to the next Rebels/Angels game. Your parents will always take your side weather they like your on the field antics or not cuz you make the line-up. End the chant...let the girls decide the game on the field. Kick both teams out of next years surf city classics...lesson learned.
flyball wrote:Its funny how it's all one sided...As a parent not related to any of these 2 teams. What happened on the field was unfortunate.
As I’m watching all this happen from the Rebels side of the field I see the parent from the Corona Angels TRYING to talk to the parent of the Rebels. Yes it did get heated and NO fists were flying at this point. While the Corona Angels parent is trying to talk to the one Rebels parent (mind you CA parent by himself) you see 4 other Rebels parents surrounding the one Angel parent. One Rebels parent pushes the Angel parent, then the other Rebel parent rushes the Angel parent from behind which leads the Angel parent pinned to the ground. After that all the Rebel parents (men) started to pound on this 1 angel parent. Next thing you know the other Angel parents are rushing to stop the group from pounding the parent.
To parents of both sides: Have some class…Remember it’s for the girls…DO NOT RUB A LOSS IN THE GIRLS FACES AFTER A WIN. I saw this happen with several other teams yesterday that the Rebels played against. Parents, cheering for your girls is one thing, LEAVE IT AT THAT.
PowerSurge you played a wonderful game. It was fun coming out to root for you guys. Good Luck in States!

Ever wonder why some teams are full of jackass parents, and others mostly or completely devoid of them? Self-selection, that's why. People with any sense of class or self-respect wouldn't be caught dead on a team where the parents chant at opposing players. Or chant at all for that matter.
We're not talking about a college basketball game, where the average attendee age is about 20, and the average blood alcohol content level is over 2.0. This is a family environment. The only people who don't understand the difference are the types of idiots who aggregate on ghetto teams.
And what's with all the colored fonts? Is it gay pride week in your neck of the woods? Enough already.
