Not 100% sure but I think both teams will be heading to Fresno next month? Perhaps, Intel, we can have a cheer off?

Now I'm worried. I don't want to go to court, be sworn in, and explain to the entire world what a Skarpberry is.

We cannot explain or excuse the events on Sunday, but speaking on behalf of my family and several others, we are completely disappointed and saddened that this little girl may not be part of our team any longer.

I do not confuse the actions of one and cast negativity on groups or families because of individual choices and saying our team is GLAD this family is gone is just not right.

We are looking for a stud catcher w/big bat...can she help us.

crazy softball peeps wrote:Aimee I see you keep saying that your teams keeps getting apologies but yet your team has yet to step up to the plate....

I was shocked when this incident happened but I'm more shocked at the outrage being lashed against our organization becase of this incident. Being around this sport so long, I meant what I said. I have never seen anything as disgusting as what I saw Sunday but this is even more disgusting.

Why don't these people say what teams they are from because I personally or my parents have spoken to parents and coaches from Bomb Squad, Thunder, Corona Express, Corona Angels, Jynx, Batbusters, Raiders, and other messagers on this board supporting us from different age groups. The portrayl on here from just a few people is so the opposite of what everyone important is saying about us. What specific teams have issues and we can have dinner or work it out for the kids on me? Let me know anytime. PM me and I will send you my number.

Can someone tell me someone who isn't more involved in this to state the facts than us? I am going to tell the whole story, since none of this has been written in full, (It's like clips on CNN up in here so let's get the whole thing in context) so people can make their own judgement and we all will agree, diagree, or agree to disagree.

We are being bashed because of an incident when a man attacked (assaulted) our team. I mean this parent ran from 200 feet away as fast as he could swinging at us on our side of the fences. The heated argument in the stands some have talked about was over. That was over 5-10 minutes prior to this incident. That ended with no violent issues but words. Everyone directly involved would say that.

If it is the heated argument in the stands we are apologizing for, then on behalf of our organization and my parents, we apologize. We have no problem saying sorry to that happening. I know Kenny could attest that I gave his daughter a hug, who reached out to me (since I'm such a monster), and I told her she played awesome, that was a great game, and I was sorry and told other girls I was sorry they had to see that. I complemented her on a great play that game and the umpire even smiled in appreciation. Say whatever you want but everytime I see a kid I know, I am giving them hugs and saying awesome job. I am 100% for the players because I was a player, not a man who played baseball.

When this man ran at our group, there were 3 year old little girls in this group, 5th graders, Moms, Dads, Players. It was a large group and nobody was provoking him. It was over in the stands. I know it had to upset the CA players but I bet more of our players saw everything and cried even more because it was all the way on OUR side of the field. Do you think our kids cried when they saw a man punch their Mom? Do you really think we didn't try to stop it in front of our kids? We aren't that "ghetto." I'm a 7th grade Algebra teacher so I know I am not trying to let them see that...But "If a person comes onto your property trying to kill you, should you defend yourself?" Would you defend your daughters if that happened? I would defend my studentstoo. If you did, would you apologize after?

He first hits a Mom on our team, as we are all in front yeling No, No, stop, stop, don't do this. We did try to stop this incident but how could you? What could we have done better that we should be apologizing for? That first Mom from our team went to the hospital the next day, thats the type of rage this man exhibited.

He swung at me (all of our players watching this man attack their female coach who they love and respect regardless of what you all think...it's all about the kids right?...swipes my face, knocks my visor and glasses off, I fall down, pull a muscle in my leg and our men defended us, as any of yours would have. (Btw: This same man sent an apolgy this morning about the incidet but we have not spoken which shows he is accepting responsibilty, which we appreciate).

sidenote: (I'm sorry to my parents because I know we have discussed ending this and I swear, this is the last post I make, promise) but from the head of our organization, I'd really like to know what these people would like from our team. It's already going on two days and out of control for no apparent reason.

I can tell everyone, from a firsthand view that you should not believe everything you read on this thread. It's simply not true. Many people talking on these boards weren't even there. I have reached out to all people involved (written both tournament directors), have spoken to the head of the CA organization on the phone last night and I left a message for the Angel head coach on his voicemail last night and he has not returned that call. Is that not accepting responsibility or reaching out? Should I bash Kenny cause he hasn't called back? (I don't mean that literally)

The only other thing I get with this thread, is we should apologize because we clap our hands together and say a Rebel cheer in unity behind our own kids and it's mean and mean spirited? We never single players out, we do do it maybe once or twice a game in tournaments and at every sports event, it's the same type of passion. Is that what this is really about? Is that what we should apologize for?

We play the game like college softball players not because I played in college but because that is the premise of our organization. We prepare them for college....in EVERY way. Kids are being recruited to D1 schools in 2 years and they better be mentally prepared. You can call BS but you know it's true. That is a FACT.

I have heard 11/12 year olds so often and even 10's... Most of our girls are 13 and if OUR KIDS got on here and told their side of the story, you might have a different attitude. They LOVE doing their cheers. They love the intensity. A coach at the field on Saturday across from us was was SCREAMING at his kids...telling them, look at that team. Now that's intenisty. That's why they win. They do it together.

BOTH umpires came to me after the game saying how much respect they had for our organization, players and parents and what an amazing coach I am (they did all 3 of our pool play games and the Wildcat game). They loved our intensity. We told them what grief we get and they laughed, like no way. Have they ever been to a sporting event, wow. So maybe they are ghetto and crazy too. I can accept that if that is what ghetto is defined as.

Just a few weks ago, we were a class act and there were many posts on a thread about this. Someone please go find them because unlike most people on here, I actually do not pay that much attention to these boards. Anyone been here long enough to remember rec.sport.softball 10 years ago? I doubt it but been there, done that. You have no idea. There will aways be haters.

We are nice people. We have a great coaching staff and players. We have a lot of friends and family members on so many different teams and we respect you all. I hope you know that. The cheer does not make our kids perform because they perform most of the time regardless; they are great athletes and kids. Most have A's, they are very respectful and we all love and support each other ad preach family, education, and softball in that order.

If you disagree, we don't really care anymore. You can contact me personally and I will address anything else in that fashion but we are embarrassed by the incident and really embarassed by thee posts. It just is not accurate. Have a great week. See everyone on the fields soon! Good luck!

Thank you for your post.

Two sides to every story and hopefully a learning experience for all those involved.

Then why are they gone? Why not just ban the dad for the season, or some such? Seems like throwing the baby out with the bathwater to me.

I keep hearing people whine about leaving the kids out of it. But I haven't read anything where the kids were ever brought into it. It's the adult behavior that we find obnoxious. So sure, penalize the dad...but the kid? Makes no sense.

Hi Skarp, I said in my post she MAY not be part of our team any longer. The player was not cut from our team. Whatever disciplinary actions taken would be against the parent, banned from team practice, games and events for an indefinate amount of time, I am not sure what was discussed between our coach and the dad in question. The player is more than welcome and wanted on our team, if they stay that would be a great benefit for her and our team; if she does not stay it will be the family's decision.
