Evryone stepped up and said what they had to say.

I'm sorry, but... what?

And I've always been curious, is Cookie your real life name, a reference to baked goods, or your usual state of mind? ;) ;)
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

One of the blues made our girls take them off

They made our pitcher only take it off.

The umps had the sparkly headbands removed, but seemed to have no control over the coaches and parents.

They were shiny and sparkly like the bottom of a bass boat. Umpires could not concentrate.

So, if your cheer doesn't make your team perform better than why do it? Is it because you know it irritates the hell out of your opponents parents and distracts 11 and 12 year old girls from performing their best?

Oh and one more thing Aimee, do you see what happens to 12u girls when they are distracted. There is no way in hell that your team should have been whooped in that manner (Power Surge game). Think about that the next time your parents start with that stupid chant. Also, if you are going to use the " I'm getting them ready for college" crap, YOU HAVE FAILED because your 12u girls couldn't perform with adversity either.

Points that jumped off the page at me as well. Bottom line, AM's post was non-responsive to the issues being raised here. Nobody disputes the self-defense issue or has a problem with kids cheering--irrelevant points belabored at length in her post. The post was basically a big FU to everyone who expressed concerns about the conduct of parents on her team.

How that closes the issue is beyond me.

The big FU was exactly her point, and she's entitled to it. The concerns of others are unimportant, because she went to college and won some award.

Shame she didn't learn how to construct a proper sentence, form a logical argument, or author an appropriate civil manifesto for her legions.

Nobody likes the Rebels chant but works for them, inspire her players.
The opposite players have to get use to that emotional pressure it is true.
Nobody likes the way Amie manage the games, but they end winning.
The Players are good athletes all around, regarding some of the parents that's another post.
like it or not CA Rebels is a team to beat.

here my solution
Get better and find the way to win the next time that we play them and shut the chant.

most of the people are agree with those lines but just they don't want to accept.

sorry for the grammar and spelling but my spelling check just got burn out.

I agree with everyone who says this thread has exhausted itself and I had planned to move on. But then I happened upon a test published in Softball World magazine. The point was to determine if a softball coach is right for your family. I have faithfully reprinted it here:

1. Does the coach display anger at the participants?

2. Has the coach either threatened to leave her team or actually left her team in the middle
of a game or tournament?

3. Does the coach condone the use of insulting cheers or chants that intimidate or harass
other teams or fans?

4. Does the coach have a history of players leaving the team?

5. Is the coach not respected by her peers and those who compete against her?

6. Does the coach feel the need to brag incessently about her accomplishments and re-live
past glories?

7. Does the coach make excuses and blame others when things go awry instead of admitting
her short-comings?

8. Does the coach feel the need for validation by forcing her players or their parents to
constantly re-affirm their devotion?

9. Does the coach demand unflagging deference from those around her?

10. Does the coach boast about how much others love and respect her?

If you answered yes to 8 or more of these questions, the coach is a b*tch and you should not allow your child anywhere near her.

If you answered yes to 5-8 of these question, you should investigate further by researching the coach's history. A reliable source of information such as HeyBucket.com will document the extent to which the potential coach is right for your family.

If you answered yes to even one of these questions but still consider allowing this coach to be a role model for your child, you are nutso-ghetto.
