surf city updates

by sbfan22 » Wed Apr 01, 2009 11:56 am

Ok! So all you have to do is get me to run into the opposing team's crowd and start swinging and I can get your team banned for a year! Wow.. That seems fair! Hmmmm Which top team can I go after next??

Surf City Tourneys isnt the NCAA where they are going ot have some long investigation on what happened. They are just putting the word out that if your team(parents included) are involved in crap like this, you are done.

Like i said earlier, the coach of any team that has parents in the stands talking SXXX like was happening in this game, should have handled his/her parents. That would have kept things from escalating.

If I am running a tournament and that same thing happened, id likely do the same thing they did.
I have no doubt that this event will lead to local associations passing some legislation to deal with this stuff in the future, as they should.

I have heard from a reliable source that both teams involved in the Surf City Tourney scuffle have been suspended from any Surf City Tourney for one year. Not just the teams but the coaching staff as well. The suspension will follow the coaches for 12 months no matter where they are coaching. Surf City Tourneys are not taking any sides and feel that both teams are at fault. Everyone should learn from this and move forward in a positive direction. With that being said please lets move on and make your next post something constructive,
Thanks and have a great fastpitch week

This is truly sad, I think those kids shouldn't get punish for two adults actions. I think the Surf City committee should take another look at the situation. Maybe band the two parents involved, its not the kids fault. We as parents we should at least stick up for the kids no matter what organization you belong too and call the Tournament Directors and demand he or she reconsider his or her actions. Remember their are 28 to 30 girls combine who will suffer.

And exactly how much suffering is involved for these players to miss a tournament? The rest of the Surf City tournaments for the year do not even have a 12 u division.

Look I'm not here to fight or contest with you. I'm pretty sure they know who the two people are that were involved at this point. I was just saying for the sake of the kids.

Thank you, have a nice day!

LOL, HAHAHAHA, Oh Im sorry. A 12u parent going to call up Mr. Gary Hanning and demand something.

You should call up Mr. Obama and demand he give you some stimulus money, youd have about the same success.

Silly 12u parents.

A 12 month suspension is pretty harsh, especially when one coach has apologized on this site and is taking corrective action. The other coach is wiping her hands clean of any responsibility. And what about the umpires for not taking control of an obvious out of control situation.

Oh No Mr. Bill. Not the almighty Gary Haning who controls the southern california softball world. :o I can't talk to him. My dd is only 12. He only talks to the parents of GOLD players. I am not worthy  .

I think I just might take your advice. I might called President Obama then have him call Mr. Hanning. LOL, The word "demand" was a bit harsh huh?
