THE BALLFIELDS AT GLORYRANCH

by Glory-less Nation » Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:47 am

Oh, and for the record...Our attorneys at Dewey, Cheatham & Howe have informed us that Glory Ranch is not an acceptable nickname. It seems the good people behind the whole Craig Ranch development have threatened legal action for defamation of character by using the term Glory Ranch.

And for all of you crybabies out there I would just like to make a few points to clarify things. First, the tournament is not even being held at Glory Ranch......uhhhh, I mean Craig Ranch. It is being held at Gabe Nesbitt even though NO mention of this possibility can be found anywhere on the VTD tournament webpage. That's a nice touch dont ya think?? Next, pay no attention to Tx Glory Adkins or the fact that they are signed up for 6 more tournaments this year...1 more 14A, 3 16A and 2 18A. Oh and completely ignore the fact that Tx Force 12U, a 96 team, is the sacrificial lamb. They are paying 350 to play 4 games, which works out to just shy of $90 per game. The real hose job goes to the Diamonds. Not only do they get the privilege of playing 1 of only 2 8:00 am games this weekend, but they were fortunate enough to receive a "bye" in the first round of bracket games only to face the winner of said Tx Glory Adkins and said Tx Force 12U. The truth is they deserve whatever hosing they receive because it is their fault for not staying in their own division.

In closing, we at Glory-less Nation would like to invite everyone out to Gabe Nesbitt park on Sunday afternoon and watch some fine softball being played in front of countless College Scouts. The Championship game will feature 2 Glory teams, so hey, there is no way we can lose. There is no way in Hades we would ever utilize some type of blind-draw or pool scoring system to seed the SINGLE-ELIMINATION bracket. In fact, every bracket game was carefully thought out and we used some serious "strategery" in filling out the bracket.

So on behalf of Joe and all the other "chosen ones" out there, we would just like to say one word to all of you crybabies out there....

Glory-hole!
Thank you sir, may I have another

If you think its bad now, then I'd hate to see what you people will think if you play in their college "showcase".

I continue to be amazed at how true it is that the more a person talks (or posts in this case), the more their intelligence shows, or the lack thereof in this case.

The loudest whiners obviously have no idea of the thought process of signing up for tournys!! Most coaches look at how many times a listed tourny has been viewed and decide on which has the biggest chance of being the best around. This usually happens when only 3-4 teams has signed up. Then you risk not being able to get in if you wait until the last minute. Some TDs won't even approve a team until the check is received. If the field does not get strong after you have assured yourself a spot, what can you do?? There are only 2 other tournys in the area and 1 of those is a true B only tourny!! Plus, whatever this friendly in waxahachie is, its not even listed. So when did this friendly become public info?? And to whom was the invites sent?? Bottom line, if a team planned on playing this weekend a few weeks to a month ago, this is the tourny to be in. No doubt the strongest LISTED tourny field in the metroplex.

I have no dog in the hunt here but do your research before blasting an entire organization.

As for the remarks on scheduling the Glory teams: again you obviously have done no research and your ignorance is on display. From threads on this site, I learned that Glory Shelton has his teams and Glory Adkins have their teams and are operating independently of each other. So, what does it benefit this TD to separate two Adkins teams?? If this TD was actually doing what you are implying, he would have made sure the Adkins teams were in one side and the Shelton Glorys were in the other side. Perhaps I don't know this TD as well as you but my past experiences with him have been nothing short of professional and fair to all parties.

Game times?? Some request late start times due to track and out of town players getting back. Some TDs even ask some teams if they can play an 8am pool game.

I don't care for single elim brackets and will agree that seeding is the best solution. But you would moan and groan about the 3 teams you drew for pool games!!!

My last observation is I'm finding it obvious of the people who have given their daughters the big pep talk on the way to his tryouts, only not to make the team. Bashing is always easier than working harder. Then again, perhaps it wasn't the dd's performance that kept her out of their program, or got them booted out. It was probably the moaning and groaning baggage that gave the pep talk.
