High School Ball well under way, what are your thoughts.

Any details on the Carmel Invitational? I read where Carmel, Avon and Lake Central all went 1-1 with each other. Give Lake Central some credit, they are not afraid to travel. They were in West Lafayette last weekend to play Harrison and Highland.

There are some p.o.'ed moms around here, some bone- head has scheduled a game for Sunday afternoon (Mothers Day..!) What could be better than a little family time at the ballpark..? 8-) I bet that one gets nixed...lol!

What better way to spend a day together as a family than at a softball game?

I know in our house having a game scheduled for next Sunday would be very welcome. Jag stop by a florist and buy a rose for each mom and right before the game have each daughter leave the dugout with the rose and take it to mom and have them tell mom how much they appreciate them.

I did it for years in our younger days of travel and never had an issue with playing on mother's day and found it ironic that we would also have several grandparents show up for mother's day games as well.

Just my thought on this subject?

Returning to a previous thread....

DD has a choir performance tonight that conflicts with a JV-only game. She talked to the JV coaches who told her that was alright, they make allowances for school events. That is a little bit different feel than she got from the HC earlier in the season also concerning a choir conflict with a practice. The difference seems to be that, on my advice, DD talked to the JV coaches two weeks ago, and approached it as "what's your policy." In the other conflict, she told the HC the day before the performance that she wouldn't be at practice. I think the difference was in the approach. Instead of waiting for the last minute to TELL a coach you're not going to be there, it's better to notify the coach well ahead of the conflict and ask for a clarification.

Osborne looked good. She took a line drive off her arm, possibly broke. Other than that, I have no idea. Saturday might have been a record for games played around the state as teams tried to make up games from the rainouts during the week.

Congrats to the girls! Sounds like they were both up to the task that day. Those coaches don't know how lucky they are to have talents like those two.

I agree, these are two gems for sure and great kids. The game took its toll on Noblesville, they had to face HSE today and couldnt meet the challenge. They lost 8-4. Considering Noblesville had only given up 6 runs all year I believe. Congrats to HSE.
