How is the freshman pitcher doing for Noblesville this year...? There are going to be some big shoes to fill on several team's pitching staffs next year..! Sami Frazier (Mt. Vernon), Morgan Spivey (Connersville), Jess Cates (Anderson Highland),......are a few of the top freshman pitchers I have seen.......who are some of the other notable freshman pitchers..?

I think she is 4-0, 1 save, .089 era, 37k, 27 innings or something along those lines. She is doing well, has some speed to her.

We played South Putnam earlier in the week and faced Brooke Boetjer(freshman). In my opinion, good speed, movement and can/should only get better. Pretty darn good hitter also. I got to talking with her dad and he informed me she plays travel on the talented 16u shockwave team. So the 16u teams should be familiar with her and may have a different opinion, but for my money, a talented freshman pitcher.

Haley Chambers - Freshmen - Riverton Parke - ERA .47 - 59 innings - 115 K's
Caitlin Schock - Freshmen - Delphi - ERA .57 - 61 innings - 87 K's
Sarah Burnham -Freshmen - South Putnum - ERA .55 - 43 inning -43 K's

Listed are three very good freshmen pitchers. I've seen all three and thier future looks bright.
I saw Schock pitched against a very good Twin Lakes team, giving up 1 earned run and stiking out 10 in the win. Chambers gathered 15 K's against Rockville in a shutout.

IP W L ERA BB K'S
Frazier (F) 123 1/3 13 5 1.59 35 137
Cates (S) 48 1/3 7 0 .58 8 69

Could not find stats for Spivey. Good young pitching talent all around the state.

Yes, I would agree there are some good up and coming freshman/ sophomore pitchers around the state.........that may be one of the few benefits of having so many kids playing upper-level travel ball versus trying to condense them down to form more competitive teams on the regional/national level. It definitely gives more pitching opportunities to the kids trying to develop their game..!!..and that is pretty impressive for a freshman to beat a talented team like Carmel..(regardless of who the coach played..!)....good for her..! 8-)

Jag1 - It appears that Carmel batted their regulars to me.

Were you being facetious? Shame on me, a lowly parent of a JV freshman, who doesn't know any better. Apparently, this rumor makes the rounds every year. Coach told the team that these rumors go around every year, he has no intention of retiring, he intends to be the Joe Paterno of Indiana HS softball, and if he didn't coach softball (or teach math) he doesn't know what he'd do.

So the rumor seems like someone's wishful thinking......
