joe peschi

seems that trying out players during a tournament with out rostering them as pickups is against asa rules.

ok ok ok.

oldfart dad

p.s. not something I expected from this coach.

I heard something about this and would like to know if it is true. I can't believe a coach would put his players on the field unisured. If he did then that is really telling about this coach and his character. He is a glory coach? If he did do it shouldn't the organization do something about it? :o

Don't forget the other side of this. Glory Team/ Glory coach and I am sure this team was probably playing at craigs ranch... Guess who might have let him slide in with those players....hhhhmmm hhhmmmm....

Anyone have any thoughts on that. I know the TD that was in allen could not run it all, so who was the acting TD at this ballfield where they got busted?

Heard from a reliable source that it is true. WOW. I had a lot of respect for the glory organization, we'll have to see if there are any consequences. I know that I would never let my DD play for a coach who did this type of thing. Just goes to show he cares more about winning than playing by the rules. :(

I typically do not post on VTD or Heybucket, but as I read comments on this website this evening, I needed to clarify somethings.

1) Yes, the TD of Allen (me) ran all sites (Allen Station, Ford, and Craig Ranch). Was it perfect - no, but the goal was to get the girls quality playing time over the weekend and it was successful. The comment on Glory teams getting special consideration at Craig Ranch because of Glory affiliation with Craig Ranch is off base. I scheduled the entire tournament (again, good and bad)

2) If you knew the whole story on the Glory Houston team, you may not make such statements online. The thing is, it was Glory Houston that pulled out of the bracket play. They were not asked by me or the UIC. One of the coaches discovered the issue and pulled out. Enough said.

3) I would like to thank all of the teams that played in Allen. The purpose was to enable the girls to play and that was accomplished. We had 59 teams playing a minimum of 7 games. We had college coaches in attendance. I want to thank Oklahoma Force 94 and Tulsa Elite for staying the entire time. I have a hunch that those girls did not get home until well after midnight on Tuesday.

I would love to say everything ran smoothly, but as our 1st tournament of the year, we had some issues. What I liked the most, was working with the coaches of the teams. All of teams showed class and it is appreciated. We hope to see you in Allen in the future.

So you mean to tell me that the coaches that new this, or we assume new this. All of a sudden figured it out after pool play was over(7 games)...

TD I know you had a lot of teams and put on a good and quality tournament. But plain and simple, someone slipped here and allowed 1 or more illegal players play. How can such a thing happen. The travel permit has everyone listed on it and pick up players coaches get a notice of there player picking up.

So where does the finger get pointed at?

In my opinion, by the time you play in an 18U tournament the coaches should know the rules and the tournament director should not have to babysit the teams. If the tournament director has to baby each and every team playing 18U then that coach needs to step back down to 10U and start over! Plain and simple, the coaches are at fault.
