Congrats Hawks! Have to say Killeen Parks and Rec did an outstanding job with this tourney. Most everything ran on time, fields ready for every game, concessions reasonble, etc. Umps were adequate, ha.
GT Shockers had a tough go, but made the most of it. First game against Phantoms tied 1-1 in regulation (led whole game till 7th), but gave it away in ITB. Won four games in a row Saturday in the losers bracket in 100 degree heat and finally gave out physically/mentally in the 5th game Saturday evening after giving up a 5-1 lead in the last inning and failing to come back in ITB. You don't want to go to the losers bracket after the first game in 37 team field! You havent heard much about the Shockers this year, since they played nearly an all 18u schedule, but this is strong bunch of girls and hopefully they will shine at the IFA 18u nationals in July. Congrats again to the Hawks and all the finalists!
