10U PCB... who should or is going to get forced into 'A'?

by HoosierCoach » Thu Jul 09, 2009 7:38 am

This seems to be a hot topic, and I have heard that some teams will be forced into the A bracket. I am not trying to stir up anything, just would like to see what the folks in TX think about their own teams. (also kinda fishin for scouting info!)
As far as teams I have seen / heard about in my area:

1. Bay City Bombers , saw them in the fall very good team
2. Chatt Impact, had a rough start to thier season but have finished strong and beat some quality A class nationals bound teams.
3. Lil Lady Warriors 98, they are in my opinion a borderline team. Solid defense, ok bats, aggresive baserunning.

Bill
Comets 99 (we have 2 98's for those wondering)

Also, for those goin to PCB, shoot me an email @ comets99@ymail.com , I would love to get together with some of my western counterparts and talk shop over a beverage!

I think Texas is fairly represented sending half of the teams to A and Half to B the rest however

I think what you see is what you get.

TX has 8 teams in "A" (8 in B)

There are 56 teams in "B" The other states need to step up and place their teams correctly.
0 Alabama Teams (7 in B) :? :o
0 Florida Teams (7 in B) :? :o
0 Mississippi teams (3 in B) :?
1 Louisiana team (9 in B) :o :o :o
1 Tennessee team (6 in B) :? :o
3 Georgia Teams (12 in B) :o :o
1 Arkansas Team (0 in B) :D

The best 3 teams in North AL are not going to PCB:

1. RS Frenzy 98
2. Vipers Green
3. Vipers 98

Out of the teams that played in our 'North Al State' tourney: (Frenzy and Vipers Green didnt play)

1st..Vipers 98....as mentioned above, .not going
2nd..Tuscaloosa Titans......................not going
3rd..Birmingham Mustangs Red............'B'
4th..Rockets 98................................not going
5th Comets.....................................'B'

this is admittedly a down year for AL 10U representation in PCB, and all the teams from North Alabama that are going are and should be playing 'B'

I only wanted to know who the 'heavy hitters' would be from your area.

Heavy hitters

Outside of Houston metro
Lady rage 98
Team Worth
Anderson 98

In Houston Metro

SK Impact
Crush 98
Lady Stros 98

Houston Metro Sleepers
TPS 98
TX Sting 98

Honestly the teams from Houston Metro have been trading paint all Spring You're getting the strongest, deepest teams from there.

I had heard that TPS has great pitching, and look forward to catching some games. From everything I have heard, TX will have its strongest teams represented. I would like to see where our team needs to be this time next year.

Hoosier - What can you tell me about the Vipers 98 - Is that the same team as the Atlanta Vipers from ASA last year? They were a talented team last year or did they move up?

USFA folks have told us that maximum # of teams will be 14 so what you see now is what you get - if our guy knows what he's talking about- He seems fairly knowledgeable- he knew teamworth would be moved and he knew they were adding 2 additional teams- so far what he tells us has always been correct.

About the Vipers 98, no they are not the same. The Vipers 98 are the Birmingham Vipers, totally separate from the Atlanta Vipers. Guess alot of folks like the name!

I had heard, as far as rumors go, that the top 2 teams from each state tournament were going to be placed in 'A'. I was told this by a guy that said Jeff Strode told him. I guess we will know @ 2 PM Sunday, hehe. Personally I only hope we dont play all our games at Lynnhaven!
