Glory where fairly local so I think they just wanted a tournament. Another one I heard of was the Mojo, they picked up the Riptide pitcher and a few others to go to the tournament but said they didn't want the berth.

Hats off to the Austin Finest, they flat out pounded the ball all weekend. Only mis-step was not by the girls but the parents when one was ejected in the game against the Glory.

97 Glory wants to go to Southern Nationals and in order to go you have to participate in Metro's or State AND participate in Regionals.

Thanks for the information 4LoveoftheGame and as usual your knowledge of the game and rules is spot on. I am just curious Coach Wines, I wonder why 97 Glory did not compete in Dallas Metro? Sure would have made for an interesting championship game that could have gone either way.

Seems strange that ASA would allow a team to forfeit an earned berth to nationals and allow them to play at Southern Nationals because it is close. In some areas of the country, I have heard of teams (coaches) getting blacklisted from championship play the following year, for playing in a qualifier and then not accepting the berth when it was presented.
