New Posting for Tx Ice 14u

by tiny softball » Fri Aug 07, 2009 8:41 am

Wow!!!! Has anyone seen the New Tx Ice 14u posting rather long on eteamz. Are they still out of the Pasadena Girls Association along with the other Ice teams as well or is every team doing their on thing calling it an "organization". It seams they have a new coaching staff every year whats up with that? Is it safe to take your DD.

Hey Tiny - The Ice program is still based out of PGSA, it is only this team that will be out of BBUSA. BBUSA offers a more centralized location which works out great for most parents.I have managed the team for the past 2 seasons and have been on the field as a coach both seasons. Reason we are changing head coaches is to bring in former collegiate players that will help in the goals of getting the players prepped for the next level. From what I have seen with teams out of Cali and others this will be the way to go, or at least in my opinion. During my trip to ASA nationals I talked to several other teams and parents and they felt this was the best move their program made. Several of the other 96 teams has made this adjustment and is seems to have worked out well for them. I can change the fonts on the posting to make it look shorter (LOL)but just wanted to give everyone a overview on what changes we are making to constantly improve what we are doing.

Good luck with your team and feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Thanks Ice-Man for the reply. Seams you are hard at work keeping up as you should be. Good Luck this year as I know changing Head Coaches every year can wear a person down.

Well as it turns out I know a little bit about those 96 Ice. "Let me tell you What"...when push came to shove those girls never, ever, not even once gave up. If you doubt that go ask a couple of California teams that got sent home from Nats after having an early lead. Go ask the team up 4 with 2 outs in the last inning...

Regardless about what is being said, and when you switch head coaches there is always plenty of chatter to go around, take a second and look at what these girls DID.

Did they produce...
With the help of the coaches, Head coach included? Yes.
With the help of parents, even with the drama? Yes.
On there own in the heat, in the cold, in the high altitude, at sea level, in the rain, in the draught, with mix matched sox (ugh hated when they wore these, my personal pet peave)? YES

I can't believe they are saying NO DADDY BALL in their add. The gm wife went off on the coach and grabbed him by his arm and told him as much as my husband does for this team she better always bat. After screaming out few "F" bombs. Come on when your daughter is0-20 what is a coach going to do! You are at a major tournament but since my daddy is the GM I get to do what I want and play were I want. I don't think so that is for league ball. Then they said another dad at a different game was screaming out a couple "F" bombs. You are not in the hood have some class about yourself and don't embarass your child and their team mates. If that is not DADDY BALL then what is? Oh and they lost one of the better players over. That is crazy. Good luck to any players that join that team.

Well all I can say to that is...Heh yeah your right, that was a wild afternnoon. Though I did say "With the help of parents, even with the drama?" Not that was the only drama up there (far from it). But wasn't the weather great up there? I mean with the waterpark just up the hill and a Good Times burger right up the road it was a great tournament to be at. Besides the girls really grooved, I wish there wasn't so many injuries at Nats. The parents, all the parents, and the Coaches, GM and all involved really worked hard to put aside all the drama to really give the girls a chance at Nats.

You must not be a parent on the team, and if you are then you know that the drama carried over into Nationals. And yes there are some good parents on the team and yes there are some girls with out drama. Summing up the season all together the talent was there, but way to much drama from all the coaches and some of the attitudes from the players it wasn't an enjoyable experience. I think if some parents would just kick back and let the girls play, the team would have had an over all better record.

Daddy daughter ball rarely works out for the team. To those parents who yell at the coach in front of the kids during a game(or anytime), you are teaching your kids a bad character lesson and you look stupid doing it. Thats what gives softball a bad name. That goes for crazy loud over-the-top coaches too. I wish the best for those girls and look forward to seeing them play. God bless.

Go Hard or Go Home... were you a parent on the team? I agree with some of your assessment of the team... If you were on the team, are you planning on coming back since the head who caused (yes caused) so much of the drama is gone?
