# of players @ D-Bat Tryouts

by TXfastpitchsoftball » Sun Aug 09, 2009 12:58 pm

Is this the beginning of the end for the Texas Glory? A 2 time failure like Mulvany disappears for a couple of years and then steals their best young players with a couple of VTD posts.

Oh I doubt it happened just like that with a couple of VTD posts. Looking at Mulvaneys experience with scouting I'm sure he looked at players very closely over time. I doubt that his decision was made from just a tryout. He has probably seen these girls in action. The end of Glory? I doubt that too. As long as Naudin and Shelton are around, the Glory if here to stay.

we don't play on the Glory but yes, I think they are here to stay. Love em or hate em, they are good and I believe they have what most coaches don't have.....National Championships

LET THE GAMES BEGIN

I WISH ALL THOSE GIRLS & THE COACHES AT D-BAT THE VERY BEST.

Now lets sit back and review this whole situation.
5 PLAYERS FROM THE TEXAS GLORY-SO--THE SAME TEXAS GLORY THAT WENT 2 AND BBQ IN NORMAL, THE SAME TEXAS GLORY THAT WAS FOR THE MOST PART A WASH FOR 2009.

NOW lets look at the 2 Top teams in TEXAS.
FUSION--Retains their entire team for 2010 as of this post.
96 Diamonds Retains their team as of this post also.
SO D-BAT WAS NOT A FACTOR TO TRUE NATIONAL LEVEL PLAYERS

So as you can see the players they have retained are good players that can be great players. now they have to mesh ,learn to be a team not an individual & follow a coach with less than a great track record on a new team. Well where I come from that my friends is a very tall order indeed.
Now I really hope it works out so we have three top level 96 teams in the metro & another group of hard working girls get a chance to show their talent.

THANK YOU
MR. BOB BILLINGSLY

96Glory has some great athletes. Sometimes,,,, for whatever reason,,,, the Jello just doesn't thicken. It could have been a coaching issue too, who knows. It happens. Its a matter of putting the right mix of coach/players together. Doesn't mean the team sucked. They were a good team. Look at what they did in Forney. Anything can happen at this age level. Gonna be interesting to see what comes of the fall with all the team shake-ups.

I heard that Mulany has 2 of the best pitchers at the 14u age group in the state.

And who are considered 2 of the best in the state? That would mean some teams lost their pitchers. I mean, they lost 2 of the best in the state! Unless ofcourse, they are unknowns that finally peaked. :D
