AMERICAN LIBERTY SOFTBALL CHEATERS

by flowerchild » Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:36 am

Most of the teams would be illegal if they were called on this issue. This goes back to the State and Metro issue. Once a player starts with a state Team on January 1 they must remain with that Association thru championship play. So for example...I drop from a state team and hook up with a metro team and thus get a metro card and go to nationals with that metro team...I am illegal! Once I start with an Association I must remain with that Association thru championship play. I could have dropped from a state team as a state player and went to another state team..Just because I drop and and get a metro card does not matter...The whole State and Metro issue needs to be dealt with to eliminate these problems and all the confusion.... :o

A player can switch from a state to a metro team any time during the season except after they sign the ASA Championship Roster. You don't get a new "metro card" just because you sign up with a metro team. The player has the same ASA card. After signing the championship roster, if you are a Ft. Worth metro team, you can only pick up a Ft. Worth metro player. Our coach said its on the ACE test that all the coaches have to take. No way the ALK didn't know.

The rule states Association....Read it instead of taking someones word...That is the problem here....Association is referring to State Association or Metro Association...A player must remain with that Association thru championship play after January 1 of either becoming a State player or a Metro player....

Exactly, I'm not even a coach and I/we were aware of this! So to expect people to believe an ACE certified coach with plenty of national exposure/experience didn't know the rules, is expecting a lot. My belief is that anyone who would exercise the bad judgement of letting their brother around girls knowing what he did, changing the spelling of their name to disassociate the relationship at the least, or at the worst throw off anyone looking the criminal record up(including, but not limited to the organizations founder and benefactor). That person exhibits VERY untrustworthy behavior at the least, and criminal behavior at the worst! I don't know Mr. Witthie at all other than seeing him at the ballpark, but the only thing he did wrong in my view is trust the wrong person!!!! :ugeek:

Sorry flowerchild--you are wrong. A player is only LOCKED to a roster once the parent or legal guardian has signed the CHAMPIONSHIP ROSTER. Once the team they are locked to has given up in the championship race, they may pick up with another team in their association. But until a championship roster is signed, they are not locked ANYWHERE!!

You are wrong. We read the rule in the ASA code. You can too.

http://downloads.asasoftball.com/about/pdf/asa_code.pdf

If your daughter plays for a state team in some January or March tournament that doesn't mean she can't switch to a Ft. Worth team and sign the carbon copy ASA official championship roster before the ASA qualifiers begin. But once they sign that carbon copy officiial championship roster, they can only pick up with another team from the same local association to go to ASA nationals. Every coach in the state knows that.
