by WTH!!!!!! » Thu Aug 20, 2009 5:24 am

I wonder why they are advertising that they are part of the Sudden Impact Org?? Any ideas why the coach would do that?

We tried out for the Bellaire team and I was told yesterday that they are going to be under the Sudden Impact Gold family of teams. I also heard this of the former '96 Peppers. I was just wondering how many 14u teams does an organization usually field and if anyone can speak to what the Sudden Impact Gold organization is all about?

Sudden Impact Gold is not associated with any other team out of Collins Park - or ANY other park - for that matter.

S.I.G. is a 'stand alone' team.

I'd have to beg to differ unless someone is lying you just got saddled with a 14u, 12u, and 10u ... ;)

Does anyone know anything about these new coaches?

FROM THE OTHERSITE: :o

The Sudden Impact Gold is excited to announce they are expanding and adding three teams to their organization. All teams will be based out of the newly expanded and renovated SMGSL complex.

The Sudden Impact Gold is a nationally recognized program that has been in existence since 1999 and has qualified for ASA 18U Gold nationals 5 out of the last 10 years. The program has helped many young ladies reach their dreams of playing college softball.

The Sudden Impact’s goal is to form a unique organization to give female athletes the best opportunity available to improve their skills and athletic ability as well as have a path to move into a nationally recognized GOLD program. The Sudden Impact Gold team is coached by Julie Wyrick who was a former collegiate All-American and Texas high school coach of the year.

The coaching staffs information is below and the Gold coaches will be heavily involved to prepare players at a young age to play and compete not only at the Gold \ Collegiate level, but against the best teams in the country.

Not only will athletes have access to the some of the best coaching available Sudden Impact players will also be in close proximity to one of the premier sports training facilities in the country - Legends Sports Complex. Looks like I stand corrected.

As of LAST YEAR - they were a stand alone team. They were (and are) affiliated with Collins Park with no 'little sister' teams at that time.

I have not spoken to the Coaching Staff about anything really team releated since last year's last tournament.

Again - my bad!
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

The other coaches are the Former Coaches of the TX Peppers 96, Woodlands Thunder 97 and Woodlands Thunder 99, respectively. Not sure about the coach or team from Bellaire?

Think this could be a good orginization with Coach Wyrick at the helm.

I hope the Bellaire coach is not getting a continuing eductaion in select softball politics. She is a nice lady whose heart seems like its in the right place.
